What Does WW consider Jogging?

I'm kind of confused as to what WW considers to be jogging for point purposes. When I walk on the treadmill, I walk at about 4.0 with some interval jumps up now and again. I've started "running" (at least in my book--LOL!) outside since the weather became nice. Right now I am doing about 3 miles in 39 minutes. It sure FEELS like it is jogging. My heartrate is high and my breath is labored.

But since "walking on a treadmill" is 3.0 to 5.0, does it mean that "jogging" outside is only over 5.0??

:headache: :headache:

I base it more on how I feel. The points booster says if you start to sweat in 10 mins (I think) it's moderate, and within 5 mins its high. So how do you feel? Are you really working hard? Then count high. I've had to make the judgement call for working on the elliptical. At one point I read in WW literature somewhere it was considered moderate. And then in the new material, one of the weekly pamphlets, it classified it as high. I know I set my intensity to the second highest and I'm really working and sweating. So I consider it high.

Great job by the way on the 3 miles in 39 mins. Do you do any races? I'm going to do the Disney 5K next Jan. and that is right on the pace, actually better than you need to finish in the time. 15 min/mile is the maximum. (in case you didn't know). I hope to get my time down to 39 mins!

Thanks for the response! I was thinking that because I really FEEL like I am working out hard, it must be considered high. I definitely feel different than when I walk on the treadmill.

The only "race" I really do is the Susan Komen Race for the Cure. I used to walk it but ran it last year (slowly) and would like to run it faster this year. I didn't know that the Disney 5K was 15 min/mile. That makes me feel very good!

Of course, it is now storming and turning 40 degrees here for the rest of the week. So my roll of going jogging around the neighborhood every day is kind of broken. And I just don't do as well jogging on the treadmill. I'm not sure why.

I can totally sympathize with the treadmill vs outside. There is no way I can do a 15 min mile inside. I feel like I'm killing myself. So I wasn't even sure I could do it. But when I've been practicing outside it is completely different.

We are getting the bad weather too. Stinky! Have a good week!
