What does "Tusk' have to do with it?

This will probably go over the heads of many of the younger posters here...but this Fleetwood Mac song came on the radio and I've heard it thousands of times...what the heck does Tusk have to do with the rest of the song? I think the beat is interesting, but this song is just bizarre.
Why don’t you ask him if he’s going to stay?
Why don’t you ask him if he’s going away?
Why don’t you tell me what’s going on?
Why don’t you tell me who’s on the phone?
Why don’t you ask him what’s going on?
Why don’t you ask him who’s the latest on his throne?

Don’t say that you love me!
Just tell me that you want me!

Tusk! tusk! tusk! tusk!
Tusk! tusk! tusk! tusk!
Tusk! tusk! tusk! tusk!
Tusk! tusk! tusk! tusk!
Tusk!

If it makes you feel better, I always wondered too.

I have no clue, though :confused3

If I'm not mistaken, the marching band playing on the song with them is the TUSC band (don't remember exactly which university that is, though! ).

I think (and I emphasize "think" here) it was the University of Southern California marching band. Never knew that had anything to do with the song's title though. If that's the case, it is an interesting tidbit of trivia.

Yup, Trojans of the University of Southern California = TUSC

This was my youngests favorite song when he was about five....he is seven now and I never did understand what one thing had to do with the other in that song. We used to play it over and over and over again too. Ds used to do this whole little head bobbing thing during the drum solo. It was too funny.

Are you sure you want to know? :earseek:

From this site:

It has been well-documented that Mick [Fleetwood] believes the word "Tusk" is analogous to the male sexual organ.

There's more to it, though, if you read the link above. Not much of it makes a lot of sense to me, but then, neither does Fleetwood Mac. :teeth:

Fleetwood Mac is my all time favorite group but I despise this song!

I don't mind that song, but when Lindsay Buckingham writes a bad song, it's REALLY, REALLY a bad song.
