What does the tag fairy do?

I just don't get it? who is the tag fairy? what does the tag fairy do. Is the tag fairy related to the tooth fairy anfd tinker bell? I just don't understand? Please remember I have not neen on these boards all that long so please someone oh please explain this I feel so out of the loop.

Come on over to the TAGLIARCHY where we sing all kinds of praises to the TAG FAIRY, cheer when the TAG FAIRY bestows tags on anyone, and just plain have a good time. The TAGLIARCHY is even "approved" by the TAG FAIRY and others that have been complaining about all the threads cluttering up the Forums. (It seems there are lots of threads started all over the DIS to request tags for others, thank the TAG FAIRY for new tags, beg for tags for themselves, etc. and all that has gotten out of hand.)
