The new DVC property at the Disneyland Hotel has room, like the tower rooms at the Riviera, which only sleep two. They call them "PODs". What does that stand for? The name is creepy. Reminds me of the movie "Body Snatchers." You check in, but you don't check out!

If it is an acronym it stands for Pants Off Donald. Because Donald Duck does not wear pants.

Maybe because they remind people (us older ones, anyway) of the pods in the 50s movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”?

In reality, I think it’s a reference to the Japanese “capsule” hotels - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsule_hotel

My husband stayed in a bunch of these last year while he traveled around Japan. He said, and I quote "it was like being in a drawer in a morgue."

He actually weirdly liked them, but was also like "Japanese people are crazy."

People seem to be consistent in reporting the bathrooms are quite/surprisingly roomy though at least. I'm guessing for 1-2 people that spend most of your time in the park for 1-2 nights they would be fine. 3+ nights or those who like to hang in your room a lot... not so much. Disneyland Tower however won't have balconies with their pods so will feel even smaller.
