What does "op" stand for?

I always thought that "op" meant "original poster", but a recent thread has me questioning that. Could someone please tell me the definition of this abbreviation?

When I was growing up, OP's meant "other people's" as in "I'm smoking OP's" uhhhhhhhh, whatever. Now I just know it as "Orignal Poster". I have to go check out that thread to see what else it can mean.

When I lived in SoCal, my entire wardrobe consisted of OP shorts. Never had one of their swimsuits.

I've never seen OP in a post (but then again, I wasn't really looking for OP).
