What does it take to push your buttons.

Oh, I know, pick me, pick me!!

My buttons get pushed when someone has that holier-than-thou, superior, condescending attitude. I can't help but want to take them down a notch or two. I mean, it's for their own good, you know.

Oh YEAH! And they KNOW they're right when in point of fact they're wrong.

This thread is getting me out of my funk!

It takes a lot more to push my buttons than it used to. I have learned, as I get older, to feel sorry for the people who used to push my buttons.

Lack of values in people pushes my buttons. Intentional meanness pushes my buttons.

It pushes my buttons when I see a group of adults engaging in middle-school-drama behavior. Grown ups shouldn't "nanny nanny boo boo" each other. Adults don't get to be teacher's pets, and there are some people who need to grow the hell up and stop acting like a bunch of 14 year olds.

1. Lying. It's very disrespectful.

2. People who represent their opinion as fact. Feel strongly about your opinions, but don't stomp your feet and swear that they are facts.

I'm pretty laid back and non-confrontational. Things that really piss me off are disrespect, contempt, bigotry (see "disrespect" and "contempt"), and lack of empathy. There's only one person who can really push my "buttons" and that's my dad. We have that all-too-common dysfunctional father/son relationship.

People who can't see the forest through the trees
People who manipulate others while pretending to be their friend/on their side
People who believe their word is gospel and God forbid someone has another opinion
People who ask for advice but continuously disregard that advice and then continue to whine about the problem they were originally whining about in the 1st place.

Please be nice to the elderly and children. Granted some really intend to push buttons, but for the most part, they are just who they are at this time in thier life.

It pushes my buttons when someone can't/won't admit they're wrong when the fact is right there to prove it.

mom: Your father lost the car keys.
me: No he didn't, mom, brother did.
mom: No, don't blame everything on your brother, you're terrible.
Brother: mom, it was me who lost the car keys.
mom: well, dad could have lost them. He's so careless. He's lost them before. This family is unbelievable, blaming everything on brother.

People who are inconsiderate. This goes back to the thread about inconsiderate people. Normally, I sort of grumble to myself and move on, but some days I definitely am more irritable than others.
