What does it mean if I posted a question and the only thing someone put as an answer is bump?

It means you didn't have an answer to your question yet and your question was getting too far down the line. Someone else wanted to see the same answer, so they typed bump, and it pulled your question back up to the top of the pile again. So they would be doing something nice for you.
