Are you using MSN live. Sometimes by fluke it causes a problem with VMK. When I could not sign onto VMK last year I deleted MSN live and then re-installed shock wave and flash it worked. I am back with MSN live now but if I start to have Problems with VMK again it will be the first to go.

Sorry, I have only just come across this thread. Not sure if the problem has been resolved yet, but here goes:
How many many messages have you got stored on your character? Some people who have more than 150 messages (from inputting codes, etc) can start having problems with logging in. The only answer is to keep trying and when you eventually log on and get to the map, pull up your messages and delete them all before selecting a land to go to (if you don't delete first you will crash and end up being unable to log back on again). When I say keep trying, for some people it takes a couple of days, others weeks. Perhaps play on your other character (for credits) while trying to constantly log in your main. Hope you have already solved your problem though
