So what does everyone think of Disney After Hours? It sounds great - limitted people in the park, lots of good attractions, BUT it is really expensive ($120 for 3 hours!) and you don't get much time.

I find it a bit annoying that regular guests must get kicked out for these events - I'm wondering what happens if you are in line when the event begins, and I guess that it means no shopping after park close.

FWIW, there are numerous DISer reviews linked on Post #3 of this thread: "Official" 2018 Disney After Hours (DAH) Thread

Regular park ticket guests are not kicked out for DAH. This is not like MNSSHP and MVMCP where there is active park clearing of day guests. One must have credentials to ride rides and partake in the beverage/ice cream offerings, but day guests are free to shop and make their way out as they would on any night. It is similar to MK PM EMHs in that regard.

Day guests can get in a ride line right up until closing and can ride, just like any day.

The other thread has fantastic information but if you are able to stay the entire time of the DAH event, I think it provides great value and a uniqueness that isn't available any other time. Will you walk down an empty Main Street USA? Probably not, but in certain parts of the park, especially near Country Bears and in Tomorrowland, you'll be walking and realize you don't see anyone else around.

Due to the high cost, I think it offers more value for someone on a day trip than it does for someone on an extended vacation. With the small incremental cost increases in regular tickets when you get past day 4 or 5, it's much more economical to put your money there.

Add to that the fact that regular park guests will still be in line for major attractions for the first 30-60 minutes of the event, and it further diminishes the value of those '3 hours'.

Assuming the cost would never actually be decreased, I would make it better by doing the following:
  • Extend it to 4-5 hours
  • To compensate for the extra time and cost of running attractions, you could limit the number of free refreshments provided. Still have some, just not make it unlimited. The true value and draw of the event is the offer of short lines at the attractions.

My husband and I are thinking of doing DAH. We will only be in Orlando for 4 days for a work convention. We were thinking of going over for DAH for an evening. Then, the convention offers discounted "after 1pm" park tickets that we were thinking getting for a 2nd day at Epcot.
Think it is more value than say the equivalent price of a 1 day with hopper pass? They end up being about the same price (minus the uber ride over twice). My husband really doesn't like crowds and it will probably be the only time we go to Disney without kids.

Love it! Most rides are a walk on and it’s fun to be in the park without crowds.

That really depends on what you want to do. Do you want to buy a 1 day ticket with hopper and spend all day at the parks without kids or do you want to enjoy a lower crowd night with DAH and get to do a bunch of attractions? I love DAH and so do many people here on the Boards and it's an unique experience!

We have three kiddos (2,5,7) and went at Christmas time last year....it was a nice experience butttttt I will never go at that time again due to the crowds. I have never done a hard ticket event and I am hoping we can do it as a "date night". I am hoping we will not have to stress so much about strategy and be able to enjoy the time together. Plus, I haven't been to MK past dark since I as a kid. Whenever we go with the kiddos we are back in the room for bedtime by then.

We will be going to the Feb 28th event.

That's the beauty of DAH. Don't have to have much of a strategy. Aside from 7DMT, there shouldn't be more than a 5 minute wait for anything. And just because the event is over at 11, don't feel like you have to hurry out of the park. Take your time (and plenty of pictures) on your slow stroll out.

Anyone know how the Uber situation after DAH? Anyone have a difficult time getting a car? We are staying offsite about 20mins away. (GAH, this is first time off property, already missing the easy transportation)

We loved it so much, we're doing 2 DAH (2 parks AK and MK) on our February trip.
In fact, if they continue to have them, I would absolutely consider booking a trip around them, doing 3 of the 4 parks and then getting a 2 day ticket just for Epcot. Seriously!

We did the math based on the items we consumed and left with. So even at $125 a ticket, we more than consumed $37 of ice cream bars, soda, water and popcorn and since we were seeing 3 hours wait time for FOP, it was worth the ticket and loved the feel of the park for 4 hours.

We were let in at 7:00 PM, so it was 4 hours.

Depends when you go and the hours. I'm doing DAH on April 11th and the park closes at 10pm that day so DAH is until 1am however you get in at 7pm so I will get 6 hrs in the park. I will say that it is kind of expensive but since it will just me I didn't mind and I also used my AP discount so it was only $95 instead of $125.
