We are going to celebrate our anniversary on our upcoming trip to WDW and DCL. We had a Disney fairytale wedding at Disneyland in 2005 and then had our honeymoon at WDW and DCL (our first cruise ever). So we were wondering if they do anything special for us or not.

Tell them get it on your reservation.

You can get badges at guest services.
You can get spoilt at dinner.
The can get you a cake.
They can sing happy birthday and happy anniversary.

Our 30th anniversary celebration- we booked concierge. We had champagne delivered and bought robes and had them delivered to the room- even though concierge provided them for the trip, we wanted them for after. They gave us buttons and a certificate. They sang to us. We got a cake. We booked Remy-while they do not celebrate special occasions, they did bring us a plate and written in chocolate was happy anniversary in French. Did the rainforest room. So- some things we did for ourselves, some nice things they did for us. Have it put on your reservation.

When we had our honeymoon on DCL and ate at Palo, they also brought us a plate with Happy Honeymoon written in chocolate :thumbsup2

for our anniversary, DCL brought a cake to our table to share (yippee more free food on a cruise)

and Curacao shot off fireworks sending us off

and DCL shot off fireworks later that evening.

REALLY!!! for our Anniversary! So Awesome!! We're That Special!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Well actually Curacao shot off fireworks because we were the first DCL ship to stop there

and it was Pirates Night on DCL ..... so ...... oh well, one can dream :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

They won't do anything because you had a Disney wedding or honeymoon, but they will do some small things because it is your anniversary. We got a chocolate mousse cake dessert in the main dining room (small, but big enough for two and very yummy) and our stateroom host sprinkled rose petals on our bed.

We celebrated our 10th anniversary and it was noted on the reservation, but I can't recall them actually acknowledging it in anyway. :confused3

Next one will celebrate 15th, so we shall see but we will just be happy to be on a cruise, it's enough! :bitelip:

Two years ago on our 35th they brought a cake to the table did the song thing. There was a nice gift (2 robes, my wife mentioned at dinner the night before) in the cabin the next day, seems they thought 35 years was a longggggggggggggggg time!

(Since I have been married 35 years, I have learned when to not make comments:rolleyes1)

DH and I sailed on the Dream to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We got most of the things mentioned above: Happy Anniversary certificate and pins, rose petals on our bed, decorated plates at Palo and Remy. There are photos of all of these things in my trip report (link in my signature). The key is to make sure the occasion is noted on your reservation and to make sure your servers and stateroom host are aware.

My daughter had a Disney Wedding also and they only knew because I noted it on their reservation. I don't think they keep track of those events.
We renewed our vows on The Magic in 2012, they were not aware of it when we sailed for our 26th anniversary on the same ship a year later.

Just tell them when you reserve the cruise.

Just completed the 4-night Bahama cruise on the Dream with stays at OKW before and AKL after; celebrating many events, but mainly our 25th anniversary. Our dining servers Ivan, Marijan, and Angkana brought a small cake and sang Happy Anniversary. Michael B., from merchandise, really brought the magic however with a touching Magical Moment certificate and pins for the DF (Ellie and Carl for beautiful DW and I, dwarves for the kids). The desk cast members at AKL sent chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes (and a pink chocolate flamingo!) to our room as well.

Good times and Disney magic abounds on the Dream! And at the parks!

Yay DFTW couples! We also had a Disney wedding (though at WDW) and honeymooned on DCL. We got "Just Married" buttons from our server and a celebration dessert at the first dinner, and our stateroom attendant covered our room with rose petals one night after dinner. That was about it, but it was all wonderful!

They gave you two free DCL robes?

I would honestly go without having any expectations. The ships are full of people celebrating things and the idea that they must do everything that others post is unrealistic. Congrats on your anniversary and enjoy your cruise pixiedust:.

When we renewed our vows, our stateroom host decorated our room like the poster above. My son and his girlfriend(teenagers at the time) were also staying in our room so they decorated their bunks too, it was so cute.

So, I gotta know...

They did that for me on my birthday. How is that an exciting thing? To have chocolate on a plate spelling out "happy whatever"? I was most UNDERwhelmed, but I see people who are excited about it. I could do the same thing at home. And at home I'd lick the plate* but I'm not going to do that at Palo.

To me, it felt like they were also supposed to give me something else, but they just forgot. I actually thought it was because my birthday wasn't noted and that was a last minute "oh let's do SOMETHING" sort of thing.

*actually I'd just put the chocolate in a spoon and eat it, forgetting the middle part of the process, but even doing that I'm still getting more than I am at Palo.

I'm often mystified, but this is up there at the top. :)

I think it is just the fact that you are being acknowledged. I would be happy with this small gesture too. There are so many people on board they couldn't really do too much extravagant so I think I would be happy with any type of acknowledgment of my celebration. My two cents :)

Sorry to hear you were underwhelmed. Honestly, they didn't HAVE to give you anything.

I agree with "gumbypee" - it's the fact that you were acknowledged.

AMK :)

Smile.....it's contagious!
