What does cream brulee taste like? who has the best

I loved the pistachio creme brulee at Tony's in the MK, thus far that has been my favorite anywhere I have eaten it, at or away from WDW. Lord knows I have had my fair share! I also enjoyed the maple one at Le Cellier. Wolfgang Puck's also had very tasty creme brulee, I think it was just the standard vanilla kind, but I could be wrong! And to agree with others, the butterscotch variety at California Grill was amazing.

And on a similar, pudding, custard note. Go the bakery in Norway and get some rice cream! Its also delicious, not the burnt top like creme brulee but if you love custard type desserts its wonderful, with a lingonberry sauce on top.

*sigh* creme brulee. It's very creamy but very light at the same time, and simply melts in your mouth. Almost tastes like the creamiest, most sinful cross between mousse and pudding (san gelatin) imaginable. When the standard version is done right, it's made with vanilla bean, and you can find tiny flecks of it inside the dessert. The caramelized crust on top is very important. I can't stand it when you get one that's been sitting around or refrigerated so it's gotten wet, or worse, soft again. It should crack under your spoon. Tastes differ, but I like my crust darker to give that little toffee-ish bite.

*drool* I need some NOW after that description!!!

I love creme brulee! It's my absolute FAVORITE dessert.

I never had the maple, but that sounds really really good!

Hmm... I may either need to make some this week or make sure we go out to eat somewhere that has it! :rotfl:

Coral Reef also has one that I think was a Butterscotch flavor...I wanted to lick the dish when I was done! Of course, I don't think I have met a creme brulee that I didn't like, unless it was served "just out of the fridge" cold. I just have this weird thing that most desserts should be warm, but that is a discussion for another day!

I asked about the missing maple creme brulee at Le Cellier on my last trip and was told by the server it was seasonal. They like to rotate it in and out with the vanilla. Here's to hoping it returns soon :thumbsup2

I especially love the middle of the crust. It's a little crunchier, and like someone said, has a toffee sort of taste. It's simply delicious. :)

Ahhh.. it's a little taste of heaven.. I love the original flavor.. have tried many of the others.. but prefer the original best... DH husband just made some last night for desert... you can also get Ben & Jerry's ice cream in creme brulee flavor if you like ice cream.. it's yummy!!!

Spoodles used to have a coffee flavored creme brulee. That was my favorite. but the banana one at Kona is a close second.

I used to love to grab a Creme Brulee at the Fountain Bakery in EPCOT. It wasn't the best in the world but it was a convenient and different choice. Much to my dismay, when I went to get one last week I found that the bakery has been replaced with an ice cream shop.... as if we didn't have 37-billion ice cream choices around the parks already.

First my 50's Prime Time onion rings, now this???

Who has been put in charge of WDW dining in the last couple of years and why haven't they been fired yet??? At this rate every single offering in every single park will be a burger and Mcfries. :-(

at Fulton's Crab House, Downtown Disney area. Fulton's is not on the dining plan - but in my opinion, it's decadent and fabulous. I love the traditional vanilla but the chocolate was the best I have ever had. The top is not as "crunchy" as other places - which is fine with us./QUOTE]

To each their own.

If the top is not "crunchy" then it hasn't been prepared correctly. Or more likely, it was prepared too far ahead of time rather then when it was ordered. Creme Brulee, once "brulee'd" should be served right away. Otherwise the moisture of the Creme begins softening up the top.

We ordered it from a local french restaurant and it tasted burnt! Have not had it at WDW though.
