We were at the Carolina Panthers game last night and this guy next to us was on his two phones the entire game - texting and talking. At one point I glanced over and saw a text he sent - it said "wanna bag me a 1.7". I am guessing it might refer to a bag of pot but I have no idea. Anyone have a guess? And yes - I know it was rude to read his text. But you do sit really close at those games......

Yep. Urban slang. $15-$20 bag 1.7g or thereabouts.

I had friends in low places at one time is all I can say ;)

Well, it was rude of him to be talking the whole game.

But what caught my attention why did he need TWO phones? I had two phones at one point, one for work and one for personal use, but I wouldn't have taken the work phone to a game.

My thought was he was talking to his drug dealer about some cocaine or meth. I believe they sell those drugs by weight.

He probably wouldn't want his drug dealer to have his real number. If the cops nab his cellphone, they'd have his real phone number. He probably uses a disposable cell phone for his drug purchases.

OT, but how did they look last night? Was Cam QB? I'm still super, super ticked that they let Kasay go, so I can no longer be a Panther fan. I'm falling to my back up team, the Giants.

My DH used to carry two phones. One from work and then his home phone...thankfully he now only carries one. Drove me bonkers because he would talk and text and check sports scores on both of them as we were walking through Walmart.

Is there anything the Dis does not know???
Seriously!

Any time my DH or kids ask me something that I don't know (and it is not practical to google) I say I'll ask on the Dis, and I ALWAYS get an answer. What an eclectic group of people we are :thumbsup2

cocaine usually goes by the gram or an eight ball which is 3 1/2 grams.
Not sure how meth is sold but I thought it sold in straws or something.

For a $20 bag of pot? Doubtful.

You can't be a Panther fan because they cut a 42 year old kicker who has been in the league for 20 years?

It was the way it was done. Completely disrespectful to a man who was pretty much the only consistent player in the franchise. A man who was never in any trouble, never involved in anything that would tarnish the Panther name.A fan favorite. His numbers were still great. The Panthers would have never made it to the Superbowl without him. He had no idea his last game would be his last game. I have been fed up with Jerry Richardson and the Panther organization for some time. This was the straw that broke the camel's back.

And for the record, his replacement, Olindo Mare is 38 years old, and Kasay had better numbers last season than Mare. Where is the rationale for that?
