What does 75 really feel like at DL?

We are from Texas and at 70 we are wearing shorts because it's usually humid and hot. I am wondering what 70, 75, 80 feel like at Disney Land. We will be there the last week of Feb. and are anxiously awaiting the 10 day forecast and have just realized it might not help me if I don't know what it really feels like there. Thanks!

I'm going tomorrow and ill let you know. I grew up in so cal and recently spent 3 years in Dallas. Temperatures feel a lot cooler here than they do in Texas. That said, Anaheim is more inland and quite warmer. The forecast is high of 77 tomorrow and I plan on wearing shorts but bringing jeans just in case as it cools down quickly at night unlike Texas.

No humidity in S. Cali. so factor that in. I live in Iowa so like you we know that 75 without humidity is cooler than 75 with humidity. But 75 is a great temp and is pleanty warm, as long as the winds are down. I would take a light jacket or a sweatshirt for once the sun goes down though.

Thanks for asking this! I am also from TX, and will be in DL 1/28-2/1. My roommate for this trip is from Indiana, so I have a feeling I'll need to wear thermals/flannels, and ski socks to bed each night. :rotfl: I stay COLD in the winter, so I'm thinking I'll need a light jacket each day as well as a heavier coat each night. I'm looking forward to hearing from Mr. Bungle. :thumbsup2

It has been way cold for us in S Ca. It actually got down to 32. We had frost on our windows--crazy. Yesterday and today it got up to high 70's. In the sun it felt warm. In the shade I don't know if I would want shorts but a lot of people were wearing them. Keep in mind at night it gets cold. It will go from 77 in the afternoon to 40 at night. When I go to DLR now I wear jeans then layers-- T shirt or even 3/4 sleeve T for afternoon then a jacket for evening. Keep in mind anyone from the midwest will think its warm but if you're from a warm climate it will feel cool. I also think it just feels colder here for the same temp than other places. I often go to Utah in the winter and I think 40 there feels the same as 60 here. I don't know why. So you might want to think 60 in SCa will feel like 40 and dress accordingly.

on a normal basis you would be right but this whole entire last year just about it, the entire state was dealing with humidity levels sometimes reaching 79%....for example, even at the end of Nov and first few days in Dec you could really feel the humidity..couldn't decide whether it was going to be cold or get warm.

75 is really nice IMO and that's coming from a CA person who freezes in 60 degree weather lol but the downside is that during this time of year the weather drops fast when the sun starts going down and it gets cold!

75* is perfect until the sun goes down. Then it chills quite quickly. Layer, layer, layer.

We will be there the 3rd week of February and I am interested in the weather too. I am from Houston. Lived in Colorado for 8 years and now Atlanta for the last 3 years so I definitely know the same temperature can feel different depending where you are. I do hope this cold weather subsides and we get warm 70s instead of damp, cold 70s. I am planning on layers. I think a t-shirt with a long sleeve shirt underneath plus a hoodie should carry me through from morning until night. I am hoping I can wear capris and my most comfortable walking sandals. DH and DS7 take the cold better than I do so they will be fine. I will certainly be checking weather.com, weather underground and local tv station websites to get the latest forecasts.

I am so looking forward to warmer weather.
I have been stoking the woodstove to break the chill.
Our weather has been in the 20's and 30's for several days now.

We arrive Anaheim in nine days!!

I agree with those who suggested layering. You will get chilly once the sun goes down. I factor in all the walking in my decision to wear shorts because during the day I personally will work up a bit of a sweat walking around DL in the high 70's. that was a horrible sentence. Pardon my lack of grammar and punctuation.

I'll report back tomorrow evening.

I am from Houston as well and we are going to DL tomorrow. I expect it to be chilly in the morning, very warm in the afternoon and freezing once the sun goes down. I agree with the others that said layer, layer, layer. We plan on spending the afternoon at the heated pool, and the night with our down jackets on.

Oh yes, layering is the key! And one of the best ideas I've ever had for a winter trip is to always bring thin stretchy gloves for everyone.

I second the thought that how the temps will feel depends on where you are from. I am a recess para at my son's school right now here in Minnesota. I am amazed at how many times I have had to tell a kid to put their coat back on when it was around 15 deg. out!!!!

I'm not really sure how to explain what it "feels" like, but it has been sunny and in the 70s, beautiful. No humidity. It's not sticky, icky like back East.

When the sun goes down, brrrrr. Drops to the low 40s, high 30s.

It has had a few days recently with wind. It's not a humid wind, just wind.

If I were going out to Disneyland today I would wear jeans, a t-shirt, and a hat with a sun visor with a sweatshirt, warmer jacket, and scarf (and possibly a knit cap) in a backpack.

I'm in LA - not quite Anaheim, but similar enough for purposes of this question. In Southern California especially, we don't really have humidity (especially with the heat wave we've been having - it's 80 degrees with 6% humidity right now!). So while you might be a bit warm standing in the sun, the shade is usually ~5-10 degrees cooler. Nights are definitely cooler, anywhere between 30 to 50 degrees depending on that day's weather.

California weather changes a lot. On Monday, the high was around 45 degrees. Today, it's in the 80s. So make sure to keep checking and bring lots of layers and variety of clothes - like if it says the weather will be in the 50s-60s, bring a pair of shorts just in case.

I can deal with anything except the wind. Nothing like a steady 20mph wind to ruin an otherwise beautiful 80 degree low humidity summer day or night in the hot tub.

I have the sun hats and sunscreen for the 70 + days. Small Gloves and sweatshirts for night and rain gear for our one day forecasted for rain.

Must be versatile this time of year. But it is a little wild! Haha

If you're going to World of Color (or Fantasmic when it's open) and are close to the water, the spray from the fountains will make the temp feel 10 to 20 degrees cooler. when we were there in January two years ago I wore two pair of pants, a sweater, and a jacket, and was still chilly. (o.k. so I'm a desert rat.)

When we go again in a few weeks, I'm taking a lap blanket.

So today was not bad at all. I was really comfortable in shorts and a shirt. I didn't sweat or feel overly hot or anything. I did need I use sunscreen as it was quite warm waiting in the sun for rides. I'd have been comfortable in jeans but likely a little warm for my taste.

It's almost 7:00 now and I just grabbed a sweatshirt. It's starting to get chilly but a light jacket or windbreaker should be enough. Still in shorts, too.
