We've been DVC for about 2 years with two contracts in the same use year. We are thinking about adding on resale with a new use year. I am wondering what your account actually looks like with two use years. Do you still have one password and one dashboard, or do you have a completely separate login and account?

One password. One dashboard. The new UY appears under a different membership number.

And you cannot combine points from the 2 UY to book a reservation. You must transfer the points from one to the other ,via phone, before booking. Used to not be able to see said points so any booking would need to be done by phone. Not sure if still that way. We have 2 UY and just book on each and dont transfer points anymore.

Also aren’t you limited in the number of transfers you can do in a year? Or does that not apply to contracts you own?

Yes, it applies to your own memberships - you can make one transfer, either in or out, for each membership each use year. So if you transfer 2026 UY points from membership A to membership B, that’s it for the 2026 UY for both memberships.

We have multiple AKV contracts with SEP UY under one membership and a separate RIV contract with APR UY. We use the Riviera contract exclusively for Riviera since we have plenty of AKV points to use as SAP.

By having two UYs spread out this way, we can make reservations year round and never have to worry about being past our banking deadline if we have to cancel. If a visit is going to fall after our banking deadline, we use the other membership for that trip.

It does take some effort to keep track of the separate memberships, but I don't find that to be too much of a hassle.

I have the same with VGF in Feb and BWV in Aug. Makes it easy to have points to use prior to the banking deadline. I also do not mix the points in any way.

Just take into your consideration if the benefit of the 2nd UY is worth the downside. We have two and for the most part it's not been a problem. Both of our memberships have plenty of points to "stand on their own". With that said there has been a few times we have had to make things work such as having two reservations that could not be merged into one as they were on two memberships and having to think and be more careful when planning large trips with family/friends where we need to pull points from both memberships. Overall I'm a fan of having two UY, but if you only have a limited number of points in your current UY it could be more difficult.
