What do you wear...

Thanks for making me feel more confident about my legs LOL! But do you all wear jean shorts? or sports shorts? Do most of you wear Disney gear, or just regular clothes? And the ever popular footwear debate....do you wear crocs?

I agree that no one will care what you're wearing. I'd like to think that everyone is just trying to enjoy their vacation and aren't that shallow and judgemental.

Personally, I wear shorts or capris in the summer. When I was at WDW last month, it was chilly so I wore jeans.

As for footwear, wear something comfy and broken in! WDW is not the place to wear something brand new and risk getting blisters. I LOVE Nike and Addidas sneakers. While I love flip flops, I cannot walk in them all day. I just bring them for the pool and walking around the resort. And I never got into the crocs craze. But I do hear they're supercomfy!

No one cares what you wear, honest. As long as your naughty bits are covered and nothing is hanging out where it shouldn't, dress as comfortably as you can.

I love this quote! We went in March last year and I wore khaki and denim capris the whole time. Worked great. Point is - be comfortable and don't worry about what others think! :goodvibes

Wear what makes you feel good about you! Jeans are OK for walking in the parks at night when it's a little cooler and if you're not going on any water rides. Jeans are BAD for water rides!!!!! Capris are great if you're conscious about your legs. Just get a lighter fabric if you're going in the summer. Just be comfy and have a magical fun time!

Linen capris are great for the summer. The only downside is that wrinkle really fast, but who cares! As long as you're not sweating.

There's so many people of different shapes and sizes that no-one would give two hoots about your legs.

I doubt anyone would bat an eyelid if you had three legs!

I have a pasty white body, a belly and man-breasts (but shhh, don't tell) but even I have no qualms about getting my shirt off at the water parks. Some of the people there make me look positively athletic!

Wear shorts, be cool and to hell with it!!!!

And so what if anyone judges you by your legs (which I'm sure are fine!) - if people are that shallow, do you really care about their opinions? I wouldn't!

I love you Winkster! :cool1:

Good advice!

For our trip next week, 23rd - 28th, we plan on wearing comfortable shorts like cargo shorts, jean shorts, or basketball shorts. T-shirts and comfy gym shoes. Any other advice for dressing for the weather at this time of the year?

I'm going in early May. It's gonna be hot so I want to be comfortable.

I'm taking quick-drying shorts (the brand happens to be Columbia); if need be I can wash them out in the sink at night and they'd dry for the next day. Also taking capris for restaurant dinners which I'll dress up with a nice blousy T. :rotfl2: Will also take a thin black (or white) sweater for the restaurants.
For swimming, I'll wear a tankini. For shoes, I'll take my sneakers for the parks and some type of sandal or Croc type shoe for around the resort.

and my biggest smile :beach:

I don't plan on spending any money out of pocket for clothes! If it's not already in my drawer, I'm not buying it.

I went in August and wore all cotton cargo shorts usually to just above the knee because I hate my legs too. This way I didn't have shorter shorts giving me heat rash on my thighs.

If and when I did get wet on the water rides I dried out really fast.

Comfy and not hot to wear and I really didn't care what people thought of my legs, I just didn't want heat rash which I did not get.

I only packed tank tops and bought a mickey hoodie while I was there but never needed to wear it.

i wouldn't go with jeans or any kind of denim - wouldn't that get really hot and chafe after a while?!

if you're conscious of your legs - which, as multiple posters have told you, you shouldn't be! - i'd consider wearing a pair of lightweight convertible cargos. that way, if you ever get too hot, you can roll them up and wear them as capris, and at night, if it's chillier and you prefer to cover up, you can leave them down. i live in convertible cargos and cargo shorts when it gets warm. also, they dry out fast and have lots of convenient pockets for storing things - always a nice bonus!

I am also a little hesitant about shorts! (I have varicose veins :scared1: , but after 3 kids who doesn't :rotfl: also being a nurse and on my feet all day doesn't help either ) :lmao: I have several capris, 1 pair of bermuda shorts, and some skorts that are a little longer than shorts that I am currently packing! But, I did pack a couple of shorts so if it is really warm, I may break down!:rotfl2:

Hahah I ended up putting some shorts in my packing pile, too!! We leave on Friday and will be there until the 27th so maybe we will see each other in shorts after all, LOL!

I just wanted to add that I have become a big fan of Crocs ever sice our last trip. I wore them everyday with no show socks and capris. At the end of the day I never had any problems with my feet hurting, aching or being tired. They feel like you are wearing nothing on your feet, but comfy...so light weight. My son and I have the disney crocs and my husband has the regular ones. Have a great time!!!
