What do you think? I stayed away from some of the nicer restaurants. Being from the Chicago area we are able to go to really good restaurants whenever we would like. So I was looking for more fun type places for the kids with decent food.

Lunch - Earl of Sandwich - Stopped here one day when shopping, had an excellant sandwich with lots of meat and cheese

Dinner - Coral Reef - Had lunch here, decent seafood, really liked the crab cake, and the chocolate wave dessert is to die for. Very good service, and the aquarium is so much fun to watch.

Lunch - Sci-Fi - Mediocre, over-priced food, but great atmosphere

Dinner - Brown Derby - If you do one "fancy" meal, this is a great choice, as this is my all-time-favorite WDW restaurant food-wise.

Breakfast - CRT - Mediocre food, great atmosphere

Dinner - Crystal Palace - Haven't tried dinner, but if the quality is the same as breakfast, very good. Good character interaction.

Lunch - Storybook Princess - Okay food, really wasn't to my liking, but great atmosphere, and only princess meal I did with "actual" princesses.

Breakfast - 1900 Park Fare - Good food, horrible service, good character interaction.

Lunch - CRT - Highest quality food of all character meals I did, great atmosphere, and characters.

I counted, and do you realize you're doing eight character meals. I doubt CRT is necessary twice, but I do love eating in the castle. You could always trade in one of the CRT's and try Kona, or one of the other monorail restaurants. And there's always Tony's if you don't want to leave the park, good Italian, and great Lady and the Tramp theme. Also cheaper then the characters.

Also doing CRT x2, and Akershus, you'll probably be having a lot of repeat princesses, I saw Belle at every princess meal I every went to, and again twice in the parks.

If that doesn't matter, great, but I thought I was doing a lot, and I only had five. Also, a lot of those meals are all-u-can eat, and you have 2 TS a lot of those days. When I went I had 2 TS a day, but I usually got 2 appetizers and dessert instead of an entree. It just seems that it would be like a little to much food.

Just some things to think about.

Earl of Sandwich - we LOVE this place!! We even ended up eating here twice one trip - my favorite is the Cannonball (a meatball sub.)

Crystal Palace - We really love this place for breakfast, but didn't enjoy the dinner so much. So, now we're just sticking to breakfast. The characters are usually a lot of fun here. :)

Chef Mickey's - Your DD's will love this one! We prefer the breakfast since it is a bit less chaotic & we don't have kids yet. This one is very popular - enjoy!

CRT - Have only had breakfast here once, but it was a lot of fun. Your DD's will love being able to eat in the castle - we've actually been considering trying another meal there next time.

Sci-Fi - haven't been there in years, but food was pretty bad & we haven't been back. I think this one is popular for the atmosphere & not the food. It is cute to eat in the cars at the Drive-In. :)

Liberty Tree - absolutely one of our favorites!! A must-do for us every trip - great food, funny characters & always have good service here. Should be a lot of fun before MVMCP!

With DD's so young, I think they will really enjoy all of those character meals - now is the age to go & enjoy them. Hubby & I usually have just as many character meals & it's just the 2 of us! :rotfl:

I agree with the previous poster that a couple days seems like a lot of food. Most days if we do a large sit-down breakfast, we eat lighter the rest of the day, or vice versa. We rarely have 2 large sit-downs in one day at WDW - it's just too much food.

It looks like you're hitting some of the best restaurants - I'm sure your family will love them! :)

I do agree with you on so much food! I have the DDE card so we get 20% off the meals. I, too, have heard Sci-Fi isn't the greatest for food. But I figure since we have Brown Derby that night we can share appetizers and desert at Sci-Fi and experience the cars. On our last day we are eating 1900 Fare at 9am and our luch is a late one at 2:30 before we head back to MCO to fly home. My one dd loves Alice so 1900 Fare is the last chance to see her. We really don't need to eat at CRT 2xs, but I would like to try the lunch and see how it is and the 20% off always helps. If we decide not to do it the 2nd time around I have just have to cancel by Friday morning.

Thanks so much for your input!

If you're at Epcot during the day on Saturday, go to Alfredo's for lunch. It's cheaper and less crowded. :earsboy: There's plenty of food in Epcot IF you get hungry again later in the evening.

and had lunch at Sci-Fi. We found the food (burgers and chicken sandwiches) to be pretty good and the service was GREAT! It was our first time but won't be our last! Earl of Sandwich was crowded but VERY good!
Have a great time!

We also have the DDE card & it's a great perk. I love being able to try more restaurants with the discount. It sounds like you have a great plan - I've heard 1900 PF is good at breakfast & it's a great choice if your DD is an Alice fan. Have fun!! :teeth:

Looks really good. You picked many of the ones we're planning to take our DDs to. The only thing I can offer is at MGM. We ate at both Sci-Fi and 50's P.T. and 50's was much more fun with better food (in our opinion) although they are young so more fun would be had by you two!

Definitely don't miss the 50's Prime Time Cafe in the Studios. Great fun and really good food with large portions.
The only advice I can give is don't have lunch and dinner too close time wise. We did this on our first trip and found we were not really hungry when it was time for our dinner reservations. On our recent trips we have had large breakfasts, snacks for lunch, and large dinners. You may want to consider early lunches and late dinners so you can enjoy the great food.
