Me, my husband, and 4yr old daughter are going to Disney World in a couple weeks for the 1st time. I was thinking about doing the quick service plan, but I don't know how much the food cost there to know if its a good deal or not. I know we would use all the credits. How much is a usual counter service meal run? And also how do you know which resturants are counter service and which ones are table?? Thanks in advance! ;)

As noted, the prices can vary. Kid's meals, on the whole, run a little under $5 after tax, which makes the $9/night QSDP a good bargain for kids without question. (Plus you get 2 snacks and the resort mug.)

If you're sticking to typical park CS locations, the QSDP value depends a lot on whether or not you get desserts. A typical park entree runs somewhere between $7 and $9 (after tax), a typical beverage is about $2.50, and a typical dessert runs $2.50 to $3. This gives a low-end of $12 and a high end close to $15. By the time you add in the snacks, breaking even or better at $30/night is pretty much guaranteed if you're getting the desserts. Note that these prices are based on what I saw in March, and may not reflect any price increases since then.

Of course, there are non-typical and out-of-park options as well, many of which would run higher costs out of pocket, and would be better "deals" on the dining plan.
