My daughter is higly allergic to bees and wasp.. I am sure there will be some at Disney because of the sweet food and drinks. So I need to find a way to pack her epi pens (we have to have at least 2 on us at all times) cool. They can't be frozen and they can't get hot and we are going toward the end of June. I really want them to be on her so if she goes off with other people in our party or god forbid she gets dislocated from us she would have it if needed. Are there such things as an insulated epipen holder if so where?

It would be a bit big, but what about the insulated baby bottle containers. I had one that held 1 bottle. You could prob. pack a ziplock with a little ice. in the bottom, and I think there would still be room.

I'm not positive, but I would think, if you kept them cold at the resort, in the fridge, they would stay cool enough during the day????

You're right to be concerned about bees. Where there are trash cans full of half-sodas, there are bees.

I didn't know that epi-pens had to be kept cool. Many years I've been given epi-pens to keep in my desk for students who are allergic to stings (never had to use one, thankfully), and no one's ever told me that they had to be kept cool. Are the pens in my posession less effective because they're stored in my desk drawer?

We just got back and noticed one particular kind of tree that had many bees. It is a beautiful tree with pink blossoms, a plaque near one called it Brazilian something. My kids stopped to admire it and we were surprised at the number of bees near it. We noticed these trees in Epcot and MGM.

Room temperature is fine for an EpiPen. OP is worried about high temperatures outdoors all day at the parks. You may be able to find a case made for insulin and syringes that is insulated and would be fairly small. Check at your local pharmacy.

Thanks everyone. I will make sure I will stay clear of them trees. She has been taking allergy shots for bees/wasp. She gets 3 shots a week and will advance to every other week next week and then monthly. They are hoping to have her alittle protected from the bees/wasp come summer but still don't want her near them. Back in September she got stung at school and 911 was called and she was taken to the hospital. SHe was going into the shock her bloodpressure went down to 54/39. Very scary.. So always prepared now..

I had the same concern about Epi-pen storage (DD is allergic to nuts). My allergist said that if it's not too hot for us to walk around, then it's not too hot for the Epi-pens. I put them in our diaper bag when we were in the parks so that they weren't right out in the hot sun.

I work as an EMT on an ambulance squad so I've seen a lot of epipens. The best one yet is the epimate. I dont know if it will keep them cooler but one of the models is a waist pack. Your daughter could forget shes carrying them. I believe they are sold at CVS and online for about $9. I think there are other products out there too.
Another suggestion is to take an insulated case (such as the baby-bottle one) and put one of those tiny drink ice cube thingies in the bottom of it. Don't let the epipen come into contact with the ice pack though, it will get too cold.
