What do you use your mypoints "points" for?

I have close to 11,000 points... and Im curious what people use them for.... anything Disney related?

I redeem MyPoints points exclusively for Webcertificates. I then use my Webcertificate card (like a Mastercard or Visa) to purchase Disney Dollars from TDS. Others have had luck printing out their WC # and using it like a credit card by having the CM punch the numbers in by hand.

Can you tell me how to do this... this would be GREAT for us... How many mypoints do you need to make up for every $100?

I use mine for HiltonHHonors Points and then use my HH points for Disney Passes and Universal Passes

Right now the cash out amounts for WebCertificates are:
$10 Webcertificate=1500 MyPoints
$25 Webcertificate=3500 MyPoints
(from this point on I'm calling webcertificates--WC)

I usually wait until I have 3500 and cash out at that point. You just click on "Spend Points" and click on "Gifts/Flowers" then click on WebCertificates.com -usually on the bottom right side of the offers.

You can order more than 1 WC at a time so if you have 11,000 points you could get 3-$25 redemptions and have 500 points left in your account to accumulate until you reach the cash-out level you want.

Once you get to the MyPoints redemption part you might want to bookmark the page so you can watch it and see when th order is processed and filled. Then just watch your email for your WC email to arrive. Once that comes you just click on the link to add the money to an existing account or you can create a new account.

You can use WC in lots of different ways (you may want to check out the site at www.webcertificate.com) but since we use our rewards programs to supplement our vacation savings, we use them for Disney Dollars. Currently you can purchase the plastic WC for $6.95 or so and can use it like a credit card at any location that would normally accept a credit card. Or, as I mentioned in the earlier post, some people here have just been the WC number (just like a credit card number) off their account and have been able to buy Disney Dollars.

Go to MyPoints, log in and then click on:

Spend Points
Quick List by Partner
Webcertificate.com catalog

Then choose what level of webcertificate you want depending on how many points you have. The maximum available is $25.00.

If you have enough points for another WC, then repeat the process if you wish.

Then in 10 days to 2 weeks you should receive an email from MyPoints with your Webcertificate redemption code that will have instructions on how to redeem it.

If you don't have an existing webcertificate account, then they will direct you how to open a new one.

If you have an existing webcertificate account, then just log into that account when prompted and the value of the webcertificate will be added to your account.

You can then use the Mastercard # they give you to spend the balance of the account anwhere on the web that accepts MC.

There is also an option to purchase a plastic Webcertificate card that can be used most places that accept Mastercard.

About the only places I have not been able to use my Webcertificate card is on a PayPal purchase or at the automatic gas pumps, but it does work inside the gas station at the register.

I just got back from the DS with my $DD

Ive done this 5 times before and its always worked (sometimes with some explaining but its always worked )

I just print the account page showing my account# address, exp date. I usally start out by saying Ive done this before and the CM puts the # through manually and asks for some ID

today though they actually called Mastercard to verify the account
the CM got a rude customer service person and actually hung up on the CM!! (how rude!!!) sot eh head manager called and got everything he needed through the automated menu and I walked out very happy with $DD in my hand.

THe CM there were very nice and really worked so they could get me my $DD

Actually if you have enough points for more than one, you can just change the quantity at the time your order the WC. I ordered three at once, just changed the number and updated the quantity, or something like that. Then when I got the email from MyPoints, it was just one email for $75 Webbie. You have to call to order the plastic card. I did this the other day, and should have it within a week or so.

For our last trip I had gotten 3 $10 webbies all at different times. Instead of getting the card because I was on a shoestring budget I called Disney thru the club 800# and had the $10 applied to my bill. My hotel ressie was with them at the annual pass rate and I just told them that I wanted to make a $10 payment to my deposit. Had no trouble at all and each time got an updated ressie form.

Also you can get gift cards for the Rain Forest Cafe to use down there if you plan on going during your trip.

I've been a MyPoints member for years. Really racked up the points when they had the credit card! I usually get gift cards for On The Border, gas stations, and Starbucks. Have also gotten Olive Garden, Dicks Sporting Goods & Toys R Us.

Aside from the awesome rewards, I have found many etailers through MyPoints that I might not have known about otherwise.

I'm currently saving up points for Walmart gift cards. I've got 1 $10 & two more on the way. I'm going to save them until our trip next summer & then use them to buy all the food, sunscreen, etc. that we usually purchase for the trip.

How long did it take for you to get the Walmart GCs? I cashed in on March 14 and it's still "Pending Processing."

JOC - It took about 2 weeks or a tad bit longer. Once it showe up on the MyPoints page as shipped, it was to my house in about 2 days. Hopefully yours will be on it's way very soon now.
