Hey everybody :)

I'm just wondering what's the best way to keep our tickets/FP's/money/credit cards etc... organized and safe during our trip?

What's your favourite thing? What do you recommend, and NOT recommend?

Should I carry my purse...or is there a better way?

Also, where to buy your recommended item would be appreciated too! we're in Parksville, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada :)

I bought this little holder from one of the stores at WDW that has several types of clips or attachments. Its a little plastic zip up pouch that is the same size as your tickets or credit card. I would hook it to my lanyard when I was wearing that or to my belt loop when I wasn't. It had several types of hooks, so I imagine you could attach it to some part of your clothes.

We took a backpack with us, so I did not take my purse. But Dh and I would split up, so I was glad to have this little pouch with my tickets and FPs in it.

HTH!

I keep money and CC's in my wallet, which I keep in my pocket with a button or velcro at the top for additional security.

I need my entrance passes and FASTPASSES much more frequently, and have used my wallet for that by really dislike it.

I use a travel lanyard to keep my entrance passes and FPs, as well as park maps, etc., which I may want to access frequently. I got it at a travel store at the mall. What I really like about mine is that on one side it has a clear plastic compartment with a zipper where I can keep my entrance tickets. When I get nervous that I have misplaced the tix, I can quickly peek thru and see them.

It looks like this (I am the old guy on the left - it is the black thing hanging around my neck with a DL map popping out the top):

I feel uncomfortable at DLR/WDW without it.

I like this question because I was wondering the same thing.

I know what plastic holder with clips your talking about. I was looking at those at DL as well but for some reason I just didnt trust the clips. I also dont like having something hanging around my neck so it wasnt worth it for me.

Yeah, everyone is different. For me, we have a certain amount of things we want to bring. Do we bring a backpack? Or do we use lockers? Personally, I use backpacks sometimes but prefer not to. In the summer, they make me hotter. And in summer or winter, it is a hassle to keep putting on and taking off.

So we usually use water bottle belts, which have compartments for things like snacks. And everyone can have their own water bottle, which is nice when you are in line for something and away from a water fountain.

I have used a locker a couple times, but also dislike that as it means we have to walk extra far to get something. And we invariably need something from the locker when we are in the opposite park.

In the end I like to have most things we might need with us, and since I do not like backpacks that means I have some stuff in my pockets (camera) and things hanging around my neck. That is just me.

Plus, for me, my travel lanyard is choice #1 to hold my entrance tix and FPs. I have to be able to have them close at hand.

I went and bought a little travel purse thingy lol. It folds up so that it pretty flat. It has tons of zippered pockets. I keep my credit cards and money in the inside ones and my tickets and fast passes on the outside one. I believe I bought it at Bentely. Let me see if I have a picture of it.

Here is a picture of it. It can also attach to your belt.

Trey:
Do you have the name of the travel lanyard?

Thanks,

Jack

It is called Enroute Travelware. I just Googled it and found the lanyard I like. It shows the clear plastic zipper side in the picture in the link. I put my entrance tix and FPs in this area (where the link below shows the passport). The other side is just black fabric, and I wear the black side out.

Well I have back and neck issues and I used to have a bag that I carried over my shoulder but I went back to the dreaded fanny pack. I know some people make fun of them but I like having my hands free and I have to carry a few things and it is lightweight and easy to deal with on rides and such. I carry my wallet with my credit cards and such and it just fits my camera, sunglasses, chapstick, bandaids etc. For our annual passes and fast passes dh has a lanyard with a little puch at the end that has a zipper. I don't know if you can see it in my siggy if not I will find a better pic.

We had a different lanyard with a plastic ziploc type pouch but it was starting to wear out cuz we save up a LOT of fp's throughout the day so this one is MUCH better. He holds onto it throughout the trip cuz he is our FP runner.

Hope that helps.

Here is a bigger picture you can see the lanyard dh has and my pack. It is hanging a bit low so it looks kind of dumb I know but I don't like it tight. But it def does the job no matter how dumb it may look LOL. And the best part is my hands are free and it doesn't hurt my neck or back!!

Thanks, I ordered one.

I use my husband. He's also in charge of drinks, baby wipes, cell phones, maps, spare clothes, cameras, camera batteries and snacks. He is also my working compass.

Good to know he is good for something. ;)

I really like that little travel purse. It looks so light. Can you tell me anymore about it? Is there a name on it?

I use one of these, attached to a lanyard around my neck. I originally purchased it for a cruise, but now it has become my invaluable hopper/fp holder at DLR! Oh, and it's waterproof too!

You got me there, LOL. I always stick my lanyard inside my shirt on Splash and GRR to help it stay dry.

I too use a waterproof dive box on a lanyard (mine says DCL on it). DH has a clear one that he got at a dive shop (oddly enough, it cost more there than the one I bought from the gift shop on our cruise). Either way, it was less than $10, and the perfect size for $, tickets, FPs, and credit cards.

I LOVE my little "surf safe". It is the perfect size for credit cards, annual pass or enterance tickets, driver's license and fast passes. It comes on a lanyard and is very easy to open/close yet it is very secure. Best of all, it is waterproof so no wet fastpasses!! I bought mine at a travel store for around $6. They had several different sizes. I got a thin one and it has worked perfectly.

Here's a picture of one http://www.magellans.com/store/Safety___Security___Security_Wallets___Money_BeltsSV102?Args=

If that link doesn't work, just google "travel store surf safe"

The other item I like is the Eagle Creek Piccadilly bag. It is lightweight, goes over your shoulder and fits really nice. It has a easy access main compartment that is perfect for sunblock, small camera, etc. There is a front organizer pocket that I usually put my cash in. There is a back open pocket that is perfect for carrying the park maps. And, there is a side pocket that fits my cell phone.

I find that with these two things, I can carry everything I need very comfortably, have my hands free, yet they are secure and comfy.

I use my Baby Bjorn black(great because my DH can carry it w/out feeling like it's a purse) backpack.
Because we have a 3yr old and 5 yr old we need to bring many snacks, waters, change of clothes etc.
The backpack is a pain to take on and off as everyone asks for something every 10 minutes. Also I need to get out my wallet, camera or FP's often, I need an alternative this year.

I was thinking about getting a sling style(messenger) bag- easier for me to get into.
I also need to get the kids fanny packs which hold a water bottle becuz carrying around waters for 4 people gets pretty heavy! I felt like a pack mule last time.

I know fanny packs are dorky, but I am seriously considering getting one for me too.

I love those waterproof "surf safe" or "dive boxes", but I just don't trust anything around my neck. I've read of many people losing their FP's becuz it was on a lanyard where the clip came unattached.
