What do you use to carry your things around the park?

Another cargo shorts person here. Converted about 4 years ago and I will never carry anything again. Even the digital camera fits in my pants pocket or shirt pocket when I need it ready. Dont carry water if I am thirsty I buy it down it and move on never understood sippers. I cut back to present level by after a long couple days at the parks spreading everything out on the bed and anything that I did not use was off the list then downsized the rest.

My DD (9 and 6) go to sailing school in Annapolis, MD, for a week each summer. My DH is from Maryland and is from a family of sailers/boaters. My FIL bought the girls a Coleman fanny pack toa carry lunch/sunscreen/sunglasses...that is awesome. You can see it here.

Last night while I was organizing the stuff we are bringing to WDW, I discovered that the fan/misters we have fit in the water bottle section of the Coleman fanny pack! We bought the larger size fan/bottle with the wide opening for ice at Walgreens (half price now) so I was shocked, actually pleasantly surprised, that it fit! The pack itself is quite roomy--I think it will fit DD9's digital camera, a suncreen stick, snack, small refillable water bottle, autograph book, sharpie pen(in a ziplock, of course) in additon to the fan mister :earsgirl: which we are hoping cuts down on our load!! We don't want to feel like pack mules!

The fanny pack has a handle/strap so it can be carried by hand easily.

I am hoping that we can distribute the load so the bags stay light (ie taking one sunscreen stick for all). HOWEVER, we will leave lots of room in DH backpack just in case the kids get cranky!!!

For the record, I tried on the packs and they are quite comfortable!

Hope this helps!

I like the idea of these fannypacks, but will they fit adult-size teenagers? I know you said you tried them on, but do you think they will fit a teenager with a 36-inch waist?

Thanks!

I carry my stuff in a utility belt:

I imagine I'll carry a fanny pack, or something kind of small. I am, however concerned with what to take to epcot. DD will be 4, I imagine she'll try the kidcot stops and we'll have extras to pack along!

My husband has the ADULT version of that Coleman pack and he used it during our trip in March. His was yellow (flashy guy.,...what can I say).

I used a non-Coleman belt pack, and can't imagine Disney without it. We travel with our DD4 and we both have necessities in our own packs in case we want to break into seperate groups.

DD4 of course has a princess belt pack that she wears as well. She carries her own sunglasses, chap stick, and bags of snacks!

What do I use to carry my stuff? My HUSBAND of course.
I do the planning, packing, prep work and he carries the stuff.

He chooses to use a back pack, but I would choose what ever works and not care about fashion. Then again, I normally do not take any " good" cloths or Jewelry when I go to WDW.

Two words, cargo shorts. I am the designated mule in the family so I plan accordingly. However now that we have a dd who is two, the basket under her stroller and the storage on top is great. Still bring the backpack just in case.

Another vote for the must-have fashion accessory, the fanny pack! Strangely inappropriate everywhere else, but a real necessity in WDW!

The past few times I have used a nylon backpack purse, but this time I bought a small nylon puma backpack and one of those baggallini bags. I will post pics tonight here is a link to the baggallini bag I have...I got it brand new off E-bay a few months ago someone here on the dis reccomended it and it is very nice.

Okay! I just adjusted the strap to the largest setting and then measured it--a bit over 40 inches! It will fit your teenater with the 36-inch waist!

Great! Thanks for checking!!

I use a red Mickey purse I bought at Wal-Mart. It is deep, so I do not have to worry about things falling out. Plus, Mickey loved it!!

i have this tinkerbell purse, i'm not sure what the name of it is, but when i open it, it's this flap and i throw it over my shoulder. anyway, i use that to hold my camera and its bag, my autograph book and pens, and my wallet. sometimes if i'm lucky, i can squeeze a bottle of water in there, too.

My MIL gave me a quilted cloth backback for my birthday last year. It is quite small and I think you can buy "designer" ones at some purse stores. (Mine is NOT designer - I'm not into that.)

I used it last year as my purse for the plane trip and then as my bag for the parks. It was great because it was hands free, yet small enough to take on the rides. It has a zip section that is against my back when worn, so we put our passes and money there for security.

We also have a large "diaper" type bag that we use when the kids are with us for everything they need. Usually we have a stroller, so we just leave it on the stroller and don't put valuables in it. If someone needs the change of clothes and snacks more than we do, then they are welcome to it.

I have not worn a fanny pack for years. Not since I had children and lost my waist. Just don't want to draw attention to that part of me anymore.

DH will be using the cargo shorts pockets this trip.

Eight more days until we check into POP!!!

I used a small backpack when I was there in June. It was small but roomy enough for 2 water bottles, my wallet and other small things.
