I've been using tags and am getting really tired of them...LOL! ;) What do you do your journaling on? Thanks!!

I'm not that creative! I basically use eith a matted square or make the bottom part of a frame larger and usually ripped and write there.

I find some inexpensive die cuts and metalic pens to journal on. It looks neat and you get a variety of different shapes...

I basically use journaling boxes to fit whatever I have to say (which is usually a lot)... LOL!! I love to journal and tell the story behind the pictures!! I have to use the computer because I "talk" so much in my layouts!! It's my favorite part of my layouts.

I usually just journal right on the page- I do CM albums though, so the pages are all white/neutral or black and writing shows up well...this isn't the case if you're trying to write on patterned paper. When I did patterned paper layouts, I would cut out a box of a coordination color and journal on that..I love to journal!

Thanks for the ideas! I'll be using them. :teeth: Friday night I made a page and ended up with this huge blank area. Not the right size for a picture...so journal away! ;)

I used to journal on the page, but found a journal box to better for me. I can make a simple box or use any other item, tag, die cut, or whatever to fit the space "leftover" basically.

of your computer!

I LOVE computer journalling - there are a MILLION free fonts out there!
you can cut 12X12 paper run it through - tape it back together and work that way - I have made a HUGE hamburger out of cardstock (lettuce tomatoe and all) - then run that through to print on it!
VELLUM VELLUM VELLUM -
you can put it over other things - tear its edges, put peices of it right over parts of photos!
LOVE IT!
But remember it IS important to have your handwriting in their!
For that I useually make Journalling squares - embellished somehow or I do the tag thing! OR I have also bought little tiny hinges - glued them to the page tand the back of a matted picture - then put mu journalling UNDER the matt!

Thanks for more GREAT ideas, Lisa and Patty. :teeth:

Another neat technique is to get the transparency sheets you run through your computer and journal on the transparency. Then you attach it to your layout and you can have journaling appear on top of pictures, embellishments, whatever. Kind of fun to play with.

I use my computer. I have the Journaling Genie by Chatterbox. My handwriting is horrible and I am not exagerating. My sixth grader has neater handwriting than me!

Ha! I was reading this thread and came upon one reply and thought to myself... that's EXACTLY what I do. Well, it should be... I wrote it... ROFL!! This is an OLD thread!! LOL!!!

LOLOLOLOL! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_72.gif' alt='Too Funny' border=0></a> That is toooooooooooooooo funny!

The transparency sheets sound interesting.

Vellum! I LOVE vellum! Do I know what to do with it? Of course not. LOL!!

I also use transparencies and vellum which I use with my computer fonts!! Whenever I look at a LO with my own handwriting I hate it!!! It is just not neat enough!!

Okay, I'm out of the loop completely on transparencies. *I miss my FL scrapbooking buddies!*  What kind of transparencies? I'm picturing the kind you use for presentations at work.

I also seem to have a mental block about using ink from my printer. I know there's cartridges out there that are archival safe, but they're for special printers aren't they? I know my printer tells me which ink to use.

I like to mix it up when I journal as well. I use tags, journalling boxes, vellum, and my Dymo Label maker for "bullet" journalling. I like to use stamps, different computer fonts and my printer, as well as my own handwriting. Hidden journalling is great for those handwritten pieces because they are tucked out of view, but I like to include my own handwriting occassionally because I read once that your decendants will appreciate reading your words from your own hand. I love to use different fonts, sizes, boldness, and color when I use my computer.

Wow, KS! Sounds like you have a lot of fun with it. Ever think of teaching classes? :)

What a nice compliment, Pin Wizard....but no, I haven't really thought of teaching. I happen to work at a really great Scrapbooking store in the KC area and our teachers are SOOOOOOO talented! I just work the Friday night crops, but get a lot of inspiration from the store and from the 2 Peas website. I hope to post some layouts there soon....after our store gets a scanner and us employees can begin posting work!

Of course, my most FAVORITE layouts are my Disney ones. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I've done 7 Disney albums and am working on my 8th.....

Wow! Eight Disney albums! I have one. The first album I ever did. We know what that one looks like...a lot of WHITE! LOL! Especially with my CM person saying...don't be afraid of white. I like to cover it with color. So I'm better off with my Close to My Heart person. :) She can't stand white on her pages either. ;)
