several random thoughts:

I'd move Little Richard closer to #1. Black AND Gay during the 50's. I shudder to imagine how tough that must have been...

Michael Stipe and Sinead O'Connor both have QUITE the plain ole' heads.

I could be wrong but I don't think the New York Dolls were gay... androgynous...yes; it was the 70's after all.

I'd move k.d. laing closer to #1 on the basis of general awesomeness.
