We leave this Saturday for an 8 day trip. This is part of the kids (DDs 15, 9 and 3 and DS 8) Christmas this year. The best part is they still have no idea about the trip. We have been thinking of different ways to tell them and I think I finally have it.
Saturday evening we have decided to have an "early" Christmas party with everyone that is going on the trip. (Both sets of grandparents will be going with us) We will make some Christmas decorations and let the kids open a small present early.
We have bags made for the drive down. They currently have a few coloring books, new coloring pencils, drawing and note pads, a new gameboy game, etc. Along with this stuff we are going to include a card at the bottom of each bag. Each card will contain the confirmation letter from Disney about the trip.
We will make them all open the cards together so they will get the surprise at the same time. My thought is they will be so excited to be getting a Disney trip they will none make it far enough through the confirmation to see the trip is for now. So, we will make them look at the dates for the trip and then load them up for the drive down.
How's that for a last minute surprise?
