We are going to Disney in August with the discounted FL 4 day pass but I know that this is probably right at the cutoff for the Disney Dining Plan. When I was making our ADR's the CM kept asking me if we were on the DIning Plan. To be honest, I don't really know when the Free Dining Dates are - sometime in September? Does anyone know the exact days? We are going to Disney from Aug 15 -18. Is this too early?

Also, we were thinking of buying season passes and maybe returning in September for Free Dining... but.... I asked the CM is FL residents can get Dining Plans and she said no, is this true? So would we even be able to go in Sept for Free Dining if we wanted to?

There is a year 'round dining plan (DDP) that you can purchase with as part of a package deal that included room and at least one day of park tickets.

There is free dining that is a promotion that WDW has run the past couple years. No one knows for sure when the dates will be.

I think the CM you were talking to was referring to the regular DDP, not the free one.

As far as FL residents getting in on the free dining promotion.....not a clue....anyone? anyone?

For the past couple of years, the free dining has been offered from the end of August through most of September. You can see what the promotions were based on the following link:

As for Florida residents I am really not sure what the deal for that is, but I don't see why not. Anyone?

My guess is that the CM meant that you can't book the dining plan w/ FL res room rates. In the past, the free dining offer was only available as part of a package that included tickets and rack rate on the room. But, if you were willing to do that I don't see why they would care. Just make sure that the room savings you would be giving up are less than what you'd save with the plan.
