When do you guys think the biggest changes will be with 2042??? resorts (mainly the smaller ones at WDW) in comparison with SSR. Do you think that there will be a time when you could see a DVCer having the ability to sell SSR and buy a 2042 resort without much of a price change?

I realize that a resort after SSR would bring further market changes.

Thanks. Sorry if I'm vague or confusing. It's positively a hypothetical I'm curious about but I have to make sure I'm following board rules about these kinds of questions.

I think the biggest changes will be elimination of banking and possibly borrowing late in the game. Plus the 11 month window will be paramount for certain resorts those last few years. As for selling and buying new as a reasonable value, I'd say we're in that window now. And it will likely start to end somewhere in the 2015 time frame but will depend in part on the home resort in question, any new DVC resorts as well as the then retail price and ROFR action. Exactly where the peak would be and how fast it will come down is uncertain though the idea that it will at some point is certain.

One can extend this debate to a general one of when to own and when to cut down or even get out. As I've noted on this board several times, it is my intention to do a smallish add on in a year or two or three and sell all else I own. I am hoping that a new destination resort comes along such as CR with an ending date of 2054 or later and I can add maybe around 50-60 points in two increments. I would then sell both of my other contracts and actually do most if not all of my DVC trips as II exchanges in. That way I'd get all the perks, get to stay at DVC in my preferred unit type and have far less invested overall in DVC and otherwise. I would further diversify by then changing the ownership to include my children and possibly other family member so they could also get the perks.
