We will be in Florida for 8 days. We are planning on visiting Universal and Disney during our stay. I am not sure how manys days we will be spending at Universal, but I am sure it will be at least 2 or 3. Which ticket should we buy? I was looking at the different options and it almost seems like the annual pass would be the way to go. What do you think?

Honestly, my advice would be to decide on EITHER Disney or Universal. There is only enough time in 8 days to do a whirlwind of all the parks, if that. If you focused on either one or the other, then you could slow down and actually enjoy the subtleties the parks offer. You could revisit favorite attractions and have a bit of time to relax in between visits, all while saving $$.

That said, IMO, the best deal going for Universal passes is the 15 month power pass for $105 available to AAA members. With it, you aren't limited to consecutive days and if your life allows, you'll be able to return for free for more than a year.

Our first trip w/ kids we tried to do it all..... ended up with my oldest BEGGING to not have to go to another theme park!

We did 3 days Disney, 1 day Universal (IOA wasn't around), 1 day sea world, 1 day busch gardens. It was WAY TOO MUCH!!!!

I, too, would vote for the "do one" and enjoy it!

You haven't said when you are going. The power pass has blackout dates that might be a problem. Do you have children coming along? There is a great deal on right now where you buy an adult pass and get the children's pass free. Will you be staying onsite?

We (2 adults) will be there May 8-16th. We have already been to Disney before, so we were planning on focusing more on Universal this time. I thought 2 or 3 days there would be enough but maybe I am wrong? (I havent been there since 1998!)

We're going to be in Florida for about 8 days before our cruise too, and planning to do Universal and Disney as well. I disagree that you have to confine yourself to one or the other. Last time I went to WDW, we spent all 8 days in WDW... and although it was great, I was a little Disney-ed out... so I'm plannign to spend about 4-5 days at WDW, 1 day at USO and 1 day at IOA. I thought about getting the bonus passes (5 days for the price of 2) but those would expire before we finish our cruise, so I'll probably just get the 2 day/2 park tix for Universal.

2 or 3 days would be plenty. Enjoy!!

Three days at Universal will be just right. You'll get time to do all the things in the parks and enjoy your resort a bit too.

I'd get the 2 day get 1 (or 3) free deal on your tickets. That way you can hop between parks and you'll have enough days to cover your needs.

I would suggest 3 days at Universal/IoA and 5 days at Disney. I like the preferred annual pass because you get free parking and also discount on your food and merchandise. One person in your party could get the annual pass. Then with the annual pass you can buy the day passes with a discount.

We split Disney with Universal one trip. We did 4 days at Disney and 3 at Universal. I needed more time for Disney, we felt rushed and we are a laid back family that doesnt like comando touring and thats exactly what we had to do. This was the first trip for my youngest son and the whole family hadnt been to Disney for an extended stay in over 7 years. Since you said you have been recently you should be fine. Just do your favorites not trying to see every attraction and show. We reserved a day for each Disney park and in the end we really needed more. I love down time for resort relaxing and swimming so you may want to make sure you include time for that also. Have Fun!
