What do you think the 2010 theme should be?

When our group returned from our trip last year, we all agreed that if somebody (anybody) asked what we were celebrating 1 more time, we would scream at them. It's become somewhat of a joke. So probably not a very effective advertising campaign. As one person pointed out, shouldn't WDW be helping people celebrate important events (weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc) every year?

While it may be already too late to put a bug in their ear about 2010 (I'm sure those things are planned years in advance) I'd like to hear your views about what they should choose as the theme for 2010. What would get you excited about returning to WDW in 2010?

I think they should stop the every year themes. It's gotten meaningless.

The Happiest Celebration on Earth was fine, as it was Disneyland's 50th. Even YOAMD, though I never won anything, wasn't a bad idea. This new one is just ridiculous.

They should celebrate WDW's 40th in 2011. That's enough.

If they absolutely have to have a theme, maybe Magical Fun or Feel the Magic.

I'm fine without a theme though - they could save money not having one.

I don't know... but I honestly think, "What will you celebrate", is their worst promotion.

Don't get me wrong I am all for celbrating with family and friends, and not better place to do it then WDW. However, offering "free admission on your birthday". Are you serious? Are we all fools? Free admission on your birthday? Who is going to travel 1200 miles to go to WDW for free for one day, oh but only for you. Those you travel with have to pay. Even if you live around the block from the magic, you still don't want to go alone, and even if you were to buy a one day pass - for your guests, how much is that - like $75.00 (if not bundled in a 4 day pass?), and if you are buying the whole MYW passes, is there really value in paying one less day, especially with 4/3, or the fact that the days after 4 go down to $3/day?

Just doesn't seem right, I can't be the only one that feels this way.

Am I???

This every year theme thing is a relatively new phenomenon, right? I don't remember there ever being themes in the past, except for milestone anniversaries. Did this all begin when they turned the castle into that godawful cake back in the late nineties?
I say put an end to it! No more themes!

Thanks for the laugh Robo.

I would not be suprised to see the current promo stay till mid 2010 and then see them roll out an 18 month 40th anniversary celebration...

Agree...

Agree...And since I'll be turning 40 the same year WDW will, I think I should get my whole trip for free, including deluxe dining, of course! ;)

I wouldn't mind something regarding to disney vintage. rekindle the fire for the classic characters, classic movies, classic WDW and DL. Our era is fading I wouldn't mind one last bang before Pixar and new Disney take over the whole thing.
