what do you think? re: HDDMR

For our upcoming trip, we were planning to go to the hoop dee doo musical review show/dinner. We will be traveling with 8 people, 2 in their 70s; 2 in their 30's; 2 in their late teens; a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The HDDMR will cost almost $400! We could alternatively go to a character meal (which we all have done and do enjoy) for about half that price. With two little ones (who don't sit very still!) and older teens, would it be worth the extra money or would they get just as much out of character dining?

I took a group of 7 to the HDDR.............2 adults, 1 20yo, 2 17yo, 1 13yo and 1 9yo and we had a great time. I have read other posts where people brought very young children to the show and the children were captivated. There is a lot going on during the whole time you are there.........singing, dancing, vaudeville type humor and FOOD.

If we had done a character meal everyone would have been bored because you spend so much time waiting for the characters to come to your table and the older ones are really not interested in that and the young ones can also see characters in the parks.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, you can take everyone to the campfire program and the little ones can meet Chip and Dale and that is FREE!!!

We went a few weeks ago. I was nervous because of the mixed reviews. My family really enjoyed the show, and we used 2 TS credits. I convinced my sister to go on her upcoming trip.
