What do you think our chances are??

We have a reservation for oct 8 for 4 nights at kidani in a 2 bedroom, things changed and we don't need the 2 bedroom, but really want to downgrade to a studio. Right now there is nothing available, and we are waitlisted for jambo and bwv studios. I keep calling to check if anything opened for any studio, so far no luck. Is it just too early to start to give up, and just keep the 2br resv? Any ideas?? Thanks for your help.

Why don't you try for a 1 bedroom- that time period ios the period most stated as having no availability for a few months now so I don't think your chances are good but would be better with a 1 bedroom than a studio.

Your problem is going to be if your wait list comes through 30 days or less from the start of your trip. Then all your extra points will go into holding and have to be used by the end of your UY and can only be used 60 days out.

October 8 is the beginning of the Columbus Day Holiday weekend. There are lots of schools who have Columbus Day off and IIRC, some of them also have a fall break at that time since they start school in mid to late August.

My advice is to keep the waitlists going until at least the 31 day mark.

If saving points is more important than the resort, I would change at least one of the waitlists to either SSR or OKW. Both of those resorts are larger than AKV & BWV. BWV will be especially difficult due to the Food & Wine Festival. OKW is less points than SSR so SSR is probably the better bet of those two. If AKV sells well, there will be more inventory added and that would help to clear some waitlists. Personally, I would choose to waitlist AKV (Kidani) and SSR for the best chance.

Sounds like someone backed out on you. If so, you have my sympathy. FWIW, you do know that as soon as a waitlist clears, those people will tell you they can make it after all. Murphy's Law!

If you really want to increase your chances you might need to do a wait list at other resorts than you have listed. Or consider a 1 BR. We have found that sometimes we can get a 1BR at our resort of choice but not a studio. Have you checked to see if any of the value villas are available at Jambo House too. You could save some points if you could get a studio or 1 BR villa at OKW and SSR. Good Luck.
