Do you think there is a difference with the noise from a room that has connecting inside doors? Our room is a Cat 6 on deck 6.
Thanks :confused3

We've had connecting state rooms twice, and never noticed any extra noise bedause of it.

We've been in connecting rooms a couple of times, and like allears, haven't noticed any difference that was attributable to the connecting doors. I tend to think that having noisy people next door is a much bigger factor. Once when we were in a connecting room, we heard much more noise from the room that didn't connect to ours.

We were in a connecting room cat 3 and didn't hear a thing either however the doorway was in the hall and away from where we were sleeping. Plus the noises of the ship creeking kind of blocked everything else.

We staying at the Grand Fl before our cruise and had a room with connecting and on the second night the family next to us (at about 1 am) had a huge fight where the mother was swearing and hitting her daughter (probably 10 years by the sound of her voice) and the father was swearing at the mother ("yov've completely ruined the trip", "welcome to my world", and much more nastier things that I cannot repeat.

This woke up my kids and they were quite frightened by it all. I was going to call guest services but then the door slammed and I assumed the fight broke up. Still it's sad to hear!

I was in a connecting Cat 7 on my last trip. It was the one big negative of the entire cruise. We could hear EVERYTHING that went on next door and at all hours of the day and night. Dad had a booming voice, kid whined like crazy, they'd watch TV til 3 am, and major tantrums on the last night of the cruise. I like to relax in my cabin but there was no such thing when the neighbors were around. I didn't even know I was booked in a connecting cabin (the first time I stayed in a Cat 7, it wasn't connecting), so I never anticipated such a problem. Now I'm extra careful to make sure I'm not in a connecting. I don't like taking that chance when I'm paying for and expecting a nice vacation!

Thanks for letting me know what you all think and please if anyone else has had rooms connecting rooms, let me know what you think also.
I have two smaller childern and our 1st cruise was great and loved to go outside on the verandah at night after they feel asleep. I sure hope that we don't hear any fighting, load tv or music like the pvangordons' just talked about. That is so sad to hear when you just want to have a nice vacation.
