What do you think of Pleasure Island?

With a 7 year old and a 1 year old and a day that starts at 5 am, I doubt we are going to have enough energy left for dancing. If we aren't dancing, is there anything else worth doing at Pleasure Island? We have the choice of doing Pleasure Island one night or DisneyQuest one morning--- just trying to decide. TIA!

If you would be bringing your kids, then I would say NO to PI.

If it is just you and your DH, I would say go to PI. They have an improv comedy club there as well as The Adventurers Club, which is hard to describe, but should not be missed.

I agree... if it is you and your DH then PI, if it is the whole family then Disney Quest.

My parents will babysit if we go out after the kids are asleep. If we do DisneyQuest that will be with the kids.

Any of the clubs that are more sit-down entertainment would be our speed. I thought they had a dualing-piano bar once upon a time. Maybe I imagined it, but it doesn't seem to be there now. Anyway, that would have been ideal.

What is the Adventurers club like?

Definitely don't take the kid's to PI, but if it's just you and your DH, go to the Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Club. -- Pleasure Island doesn't really do much for me though, if it weren't for the Adventurer's
Club, I wouldn't go there at all. I can go to bars and nightclubs at home or most of the resorts have nice lounges and bars if I really have the urge.

The dualing Piano bar is Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk ( I am pretty sure that is where it is). I have only been to the Adventurers Club once a long time ago and I remeber it being a bar that is set up in a big house setting with comedic performers... It was fun. The comedy stop is also fun thing to do.

Yup, Jellyrolls is at the Boardwalk and is a lot of fun. It is right next to Atlantic Dance Hall (which used to be a lot of fun when they had live bands playing swing music several years ago).

At PI, there are some fun nightclubs if you like that sort of thing and the Comedy Warehouse and the Adventurer's Club. Kungaloosh! The Adventurer's Club is a bar that is a comedy show too. There are several characters and they 'show's take place in the main lobby, library, mask room and artifact room. It's probably one of those places you will either love or hate, but I love it! If you've got the kids and want to do something with them, stick to DisneyQuest, but if you and your DH want to do something alone, PI or Jellyrolls are good options! :goodvibes

Here's some words of advice. Do not go to PI on a Saturday night. I went on a Sat night back in October and it was insanely crowded.

Does anyone know what night all of the castmembers and locals hit PI? I seem to remember that it was a weeknight, and extremely crowded as well.

Thanks,

awdwnut

As a local, I usually go on a Friday or Saturday night (especially when I was in college and we used to go all the time). I think there is a service industry night on Sundays still. I've been to PI on a Friday or Saturday night and seen it almost empty but also sometimes packed. I was at the Adventurer's Club this past Saturday and it was packed, but not too bad. It ebbed and flowed. Some of the dance clubs are that way too, but who really wants to go when no one is there? It's more fun when there are lots of people around! :sunny:

The most crowded weeknight is probably Thursday. It's a big go out night for college students, as far as week nights go.

Without the little ones - go to the Comedy Warehouse at PI. Jellyrolls is also a possibility for the piano fan. We have done Disneyquest 2x with our kids, and both times had fun - but.........I don't know why we went back for a second run at it - each time we felt that it was just too chaotic for us. I guess at Disney, even the things you're not crazy about, are worth doing twice!

We were disappointed in PI during our trip in October. We have gone many times in the past and enjoyed it, but this time was not good.
I love Jellyrolls. If you like dueling pianos it is a blast. The Boardwalk is a nice area to explore too. Jellyrolls has a cover charge, $8 I think, but it is less than PI. Jellyrolls does get crowded as the night goes on. Have Fun whatever you decide.

Dh and I used to love PI, but now it just seems kind of blah. During our past couple of visits (July/August and Oct.), there were very few people there.
