What do you think of my reasoning?

My husband and I took our 18 month old on a june 4 cruise to mexico. We all had a fabulous time and want to cruise again. Today I found out that we are going to have another baby next Feb. My husband said, "I guess you should make your trip plans." I'm really considering a 7 night cruise the first week in Sept. I know it is a lot of vacationing in a small amount of time, plus I guess I should mention that we are going to WDW in October for a week, but that has been planned for seven months. What do you think, should we go for it?

If you can afford to do it...then go for it! Although children are a blessing, after the new baby arrives it is going to take a little more time and it might be a while before you will want to fly cross country again. Just for practicallity, is there a way that you can do your cruise the week prior to the WDW trip, or even switch the WDW trip to follow the September cruise. I'm just thinking of doing both with minimal flying time for your 18 mo old. :)

Congratulations!!! I guess the timing isn't quite right for the new baby to be a DCL souvenir, is it?? (Did you ever see that commercial?)

Anyway....I'd say if your husband said "go for it" and you can afford it, you may as well do it while you can. Having a second child changes a lot of things. It suddenly isn't quite as easy to pick up and go. I can guarantee that when/if my DH gives ME the go-ahead, I waste NO time!!
Have fun, and CONGRATS again!!

BTW, we were on the June 4th cruise, too!!

Lisa.....very good thinking as far as changing the dates to minimize the flying!! Great advice!

Hey Jen,

I see you're from Fresno...We're from Sacramento. We travel to Orlando at least once or twice a year. Maybe you could change your WDW vacation right after your 7 day cruise. It would save you a trip on airfare :)

We just came back in May from cruising with RCL. Hubby was so disappointed that he decided we would go on the repositioning cruise...heaven forbid if we ended a cruising trip on a bad note ;) So we are looking at a 3 month turn around time.

After the cruise with RCL we did spend 3 nights at OKW. What a treat that was. Psychologically (spelling?) it was nice since after the cruise we knew our vacation was not over!

Good luck!
Deb

Thanks for the advice. I know how hard it is with one, and believe me he is a handful, I could imagine how hard a cruise would be with two, let alone flying. We will definetly be changing things quite a bit. I wish we would have experienced DCL a little longer before now. It was our first cruise and we didn't even want to come home. I think we may do it.
