We will be visiting WDW in June/July, staying at the Poly. We will only have a car for our day at Kennedy Space, so we will be relying on Disney transportation. The cast will be Me, the Dis planner and obsesser, DH, DS 14 and DS 8. We all enjoy good food and are adventurous eaters. DH and I do not eat beef or pork, and I do not eat shellfish. We usually do only two meals a day when at WDW and try to have a snack in the middle of the day. We will be arriving after 11 PM on Thursday, so our plans start on Friday morning. I am getting ready to make PS's and here are my plans:

Friday is MK day with plans for breakfast at Chef Mickey's and dinner at Kona.

Saturday is AK day with breakfast at 1900 Park Fair and dinner at Boma

Sunday is Epcot day with breakfast at Kona Cafe and dinner at Marakesh

Monday we will take advantage of AK EE if we want to go back with breakfast at Boma. Then we will head over to MGM. We are thinking about the Fantasmic package at 50's Cafe or Hollywood and Vine. If we don't do that, I am afraid that we will miss Fantasmic. Our dietary requirements don't really allow for fast food (burgers, hot dogs and meat sandwiches are out) and it will be too late to eat after Fantasmic.

Tuesday we will be at Kennedy Space. We might get back in time for dinner at DD, but we will have to play it by ear. We will probably eat breakfast on the road as well.

Wednesday will be our last full day at WDW. We will plan the day while we are there, but plan breakfast at Spoodles and Dinner (maybe without the kids) at Citrico's.

Thursday we will be leaving for our 3 day cruise on the Wonder. I am not sure where we will eat, but I might make another PS for Kona. Any other ideas?

Any suggestions? I tried to plan to keep transportation to a minimum and switched from the WL to the Poly to accomodate my dining plans as well. We will probably do water parks or the pool each afternoon and then go to dinner, but even if we want to do that, I figure we can stay in whatever park we are in after we eat as well. I am hoping for late hours in the parks so that we can get as much in as possible and still relax.

I can't wait to hear what you have to think about this!!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

For a your MGM dinner I'd pick Mama Melrose or Brown Derby over PTC or H&V. MM has flatbreads, chicken and pasta that would meet your requirements I think. Brown Derby might have fewer options. We don't care for PTC or H&V. Just my opinion of course.

For your cruise day I assume you're asking about breakfast? If time allows, Grand Floridian Cafe is a very pretty spot that serves breakfast. Kona is our favorite though.

I would probably rethink dinner at Marakesh. If memory serves correctly, I remember mostly beef and veal on the menu. Try the Garden Grill at THE LAND!

You might also want to look into some of the counter service options particularly since many of them serve some type of chicken or salad. I rarely eat burgers but enjoy salads, grilled chicken sandwiches or during guilty moments, fried chicken or fish. Check out wdwig.com for some details.

Thanks Cindy for the advice about Marakesh. We actually ate there several years ago and loved it. There are some chicken and veggie options that DH and I will eat and that way the DS's can have the experience. I did check out the menu and it looked okay. I would have loved to try LeCellier, but I don't think there are a lot of options for the non-meat eaters in our group.

BCV, We live in New Jersey and 95% of our restaraunts are Italian, most of them really good Italian. We really want to try to eat in places that we can't at home, and we didn't want to pay a lot to eat fair Italian which is why we didn't pick MM. You were right about Brown Derby, not enough options for us. Thanks, though.

Ah, a kindred spirit...:smooth: I've got our trip planned around our PS dining, too. My husband thinks I'm a bit over the edge...He just doesn't get it...a plan works.
Your plan looks good...what's the scoop on the Fantasmic dining you mentioned?
Thanks!

Seems like you are doing an awful lot of big breakfasts! Big breakfasts take place during prime park touring time (read multiple rides on E ticket attractions... especially with kids the ages of yours). I know when I was that age, you couldn't have gotten me to a big breakfast... I would have been miserable until I hit the parks... then after I had been there a bit, eating would be OK... hey, what am I talking about... I am still that way!!!!!!!!! However, if big breakfasts instead of parks in the morning is your thing, go for it. Less crowds at the parks for those of us who get there 1st thing!!!

As for the rest of the meals, 50's Prime time is a MUST! BTW, you may not know this, but they are no longer doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package after this month, I believe, so you can eat wherever you choose (late lunch, early dinner), then line up with everyone else to get in. 50's Prime Time never did participate in that anyway... the only choices would have been Brown Derby, H&V and Mama Melrose, and out of all of them, I would have chosen Mama Melrose.

We always do breakfast...two diabetics so we have to...AND make it to the parks by opening. Just make those PSs for 7:30 or even 8 if the breakfast spot is close to the park. Of course, we avoid early entry days like the plague.:D

How are you planning to get to Boma for breakfast before doing EE at AK? If Boma starts Breakfast at 7 am (that's when you'd have to be there in order to eat and make it to AK by opening) you'd probably have to leave the Poly very very early if you rely on Disney transport.

Thanks for all of your responses. We actually like to eat late breakfasts when on vacation. I will plan a lot of the breakfasts at around 10 or 10:30. That way, we can take advantage of EE if we are awake (or get a Mickey wake up call) or we can stay out at the pool late the night before or in a park until closing. We get to ride the E-ticket rides ( I actually remember WDW with tickets) in the relative calm of the morning and then get out of the park for a while. It worked really well 6 years ago, we will see how it goes this time. Usually if DS's know the plan they are very cooperative. This will also allow DS 14 and DH to sleep in if they want and meet us somewhere for breakfast. DS 14 might be at WDW in May for a school trip and might not want to do all that DS 8 wants to do. I am up at 5 AM every day, even on vacation, so I would take DS 8 to the parks.

I will take some breakfast bars with us for the room so that the kids can eat when they get up if they are hungry or on the way to an EE. Late breakfasts let us skip lunch so we can do rides while everyone else is heading to lunch.

It helps us to keep our spending down a little and I don't have to use so many of my WW points!!!!!

I wasn't sure if the Fantasmic Dinner Package was going to end or not, so we might play that by ear. I will have to look at more menus on WDWIG to decide.

We still have some actual e-tickets....a,b,c&d, too!:D

On Deb Will's site it talks about Fantasmic dinner packages being offered after Feb.. She thinks it will revert back to the old format.
