What do you think of evening extra magic hours at the MK? They will have one night during our stay coming up in a week from 10pm-12pm. Wondering if it's worth going back for since we will be on property? That will also be our HS day so we will be up early for SWGE. I know they will have the halloween party and after hours events while we are there, but I can't justify paying $125 per person for 3hrs in a park nor pay $79 per person for the halloween parties based on the horror stories I've recently read about overcrowding during the parties.

When we went last year it wasn’t worth it. There was to many people and long waits. The crowds didn’t thin out until about 1/2 hour before closing and even then some rides were a 30 minute wait. We went to one that was 10:00 to 12:00.

Yes, it sucks that what used to be free Disney now charges for? There used to be longer hours and more EMH's for guests. Now there is one a week maybe and everyone goes to that one that is "free". We went once and never again.
No wonder people are paying for the evening hours that used to be free for everyone. A big money maker for them.
I have never paid for those events and I never will, on principle.

I would say eventually they will do away with all EMH and start charging for them.

After Hours is a different product than EMH and Parties, though. Most reports for that event are very positive on here (to be honest, when they first announced it I thought it would be a "test" that wouldn't work).

For the people who love it, I guess it's like renting out the park for a few hours to have virtually no lines... except you're doing it with other people. It's really for people who just want to hustle around the parks and go on rides and rides and rides for a few hours.

Party tickets should not be purchased with the expectation of short lines. The real draw for the parties would be unique entertainment experiences, special festive atmosphere, exclusive activities, etc. and the rides happen to be open too. In that sense, $79-$89 is probably on par with going to a concert, show, or other event.

Personally, none of these things are huge draws, so I just appreciate EMH if I'm staying onsite. If the lines are too long, I'd probably still enjoy just staying in the parks for a while longer. Usually I've found that the second half of the evening EMH it does slow down quite a bit. I might consider After Hours if I'm visiting with other people who don't get to visit often and we can enjoy a bunch of rides when the temperatures are cooler.

We had one 10PM-Midnight EMH this week and the lines for most attractions never went below 35 minutes, with Splash closing early for some reason. We did HM and Space before calling it quits, but we had done Splash and BTMR between 8:30PM and 10PM.

If it was during party season, and it was my only opportunity to ride PeopleMover art night, it would be worth it for that reason alone.

Just being in MK at night is special. So what if you may not get to ride some of the big rides. It provides a great opportunity to knock out some lesser attractions. I promise you that at 11:30 on a EMH night, the line for Dumbo, Pooh, Little Mermaid, Barnstormer, etc. is going to be less than it is during the day on any other day you go.

Right there is time saved waiting for 4 attractions, and you can use that time more strategically on another day. And, as an added bonus, those 4 rides are better at night, even Mermaid and Pooh which are indoor. If you don't believe me, try it sometime.

I usually enjoy the magic hours and find it's less crowded but I'm going by last winter's experience. Good luck

This is exactly why we are doing it Thanksgiving week. We want to enjoy Tomorrowland at night, ride TTA, Pooh, Dumbo, etc. It will be our last night in the MK for a long time and I want to make it count.

I have been to the evening EMH a few times and the After Hours Villain Event. If they have After Hours when your going it is better than regular EMH. It cost more but we walked on all rides except Space which was about a 15 minute wait and The Pirates of the Caribbean was about a 10 minute wait. After Hours was worth it for us because of lower temperatures and lower crowds. With After Hours ticket you are able to get in the park at 7:00. Actually they say 7:00 but let people enter about 6:30.
We didn’t even attempt EMH this year after going the year before because crowds were to high.
We always go in the summer so it is a crowded time of the year. If your going when crowds are not high EMH may be a better experience then what we had.

Thanks everyone, I'll think about all of these. Now, the more pressing matter, Tropical Storm Dorian needs to take a hike and not ruin our trip next week!!!

I love the late EMH personally, but I would expect them to be busy. I went Aug 11-14 and thought I would have my normal experience with EMH (in June we walked on most everything except SDMT or Space). 2 weeks ago it was awful- so awful that I left after one ride. This was just before party season and I think that played a huge role. If you don't have ambitious plans the next day it is worth a shot to see though.

I am also hopping Dorian takes a turn! I am in Orlando on Tuesday/Wednesday for work and really want this trip to happen!!
