I really enjoy the show 16 and Pregnant, I think it gives a good insight on what it is to be 16 and pregnant.
But then I wonder, with his other shows (Sober House and Celeb Rehab, didn't he also have a sex rehab one or something like that?) is he exploiting these people? Is it really ethical for him to show these people going through treatment?
Sometimes I think he's a really bright man who knows a lot about addiction, other days I ask why am I watching Jeff Conway puking, slurring his words, and crying his eyes out?
IDK, wondering what others are thinking I guess.

I always liked Dr. Drew, especially when he did that show with Adam Carolla..I think it was "Love Lines"? I admired Dr. Drew for putting up with Adam's crap (yes, I realize Adam was the comic relief of the show) and how he truly seemed like he wanted to help out the callers.

I've always respected his work on Celebrity Rehab, Sober House, etc.

But then.....when he hosted the first "16 & Pregnant" reunion, he made some comments to Lacy that really got under my skin. She was talking about how Ryan, her bf, didn't really spend time with the baby, seemed disconnected, etc. and Dr. Drew said something to the effect that Ryan's behavior was excusable...because he's a guy. Wha??? I sat there thinking "really, Dr. Drew? Really???"

Just the other day my sister mentioned to me that Dr. Drew used to frequent the Starbucks that she worked at in Pasadena and he was kind of a jerk. Soooo..I'm not so sure that I like Dr. Drew anymore. :lmao:

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

I grew up with Dr. Drew on the radio here. He just always seemed to be the guy who was helping and trying to show teens that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I know he's saved many a life just by being on the air alone, so I tend to reserve judgment of him now that he's on TV across the nation.

Well personality wise, I dont really know what to think of him;), but he is easy on the eyes..

Does anybody remember when he was on the first season of Big Brother...???He was in the special room with the live guests..and would comment about what was happening in the house..

I do enjoy in Celeb rehab and now Sober house..when I watch Sober house, I really wonder how much is "scripted?":confused3

I have no respect for Dr. Drew after he called Sandra Bullock a "love addict." Also I do not believe in sex addiction. The goal of therapy is not to treat the affliction but to treat the WHOLE person.

I think his shows are nothing more then entertainment. You put a bunch of has been actors in front of a camera and they are all going to play it up to get the most air time. I think if he really wanted to help them, then the cameras would not be there. They are counter productive to any treatment.

I think he's a publicity hound who is willing to exploit peoples' problems for his own gain.

I have to admit I watch all of his shows. Celeb rehab, sex rehab, sober house, BUT I hope that these people get real help and don't just rely on him for their recovery. Some of these people really need more professional help than these TV shows offer and if they aren't getting any other help, they will never get better.

I love Dennis Rodman on Sober House. He "gets" the whole TV thing. I love the eye-rolls and the sighs and the head shakes. People like Jeff Conaway and Keri Anne really need much more help than they can get on a few weeks of TV and I hope they get more help than we see.

I like Dr. Drew and I think he's very knowledgable, but I question the wisdom of having both men and women in the rehab house. Especially when 2 of them are ex-lovers. That just seems to be an awful lot of needless sexual tension and drama. I think the producers are putting sensational TV before these people's recovery. No wonder they keep falling off the wagon!

Having been in rehab myself, I can tell you that at my facility we were not even allowed to eat at the same table with the opposite sex, let alone occupy the same apartments. We could talk to each other only in a public place with other people around and anyone who was seen pairing off or flirting was reprimanded hard. Rehab is NOT the place to be hooking up or looking for love.

::yes:: I have really only listened to him when he was on Loveline on KROQ with the Poorman. Loved him then, but I've never seen him on TV, so I wouldn't know if he's still the same.
