what does everyone think. I myself think to much is covered on our new stations and the radio? OK, before you all attack me I do know in my heart that this can be a good thing preparing us for anything but on the other hand it really makes me look into other things to much, ex. my trip to Disney.

I think there is way too much competition for news out there. I believe it makes the reporters say things without 100% confirmation.

When I was going to school, I took a few communications/media type courses. One thing we were tought was that when you report the news, you have two sources and that you never interject your opinion into the news story.

News stories today, and I noticed this throughout the war, are so opinionated, it's unreal. AND, I saw a lot of this (example) ...."While we have no confirmation on this, we believe all 8 POW's have been killed." They do this in order to be the first ones to report something. Even if it sends innocent families into panic!

This all comes about from the publics desire for entertainment...hence the opinionated garbage...and the desire to be #1 in the ratings...hence the reporting on things without any confirmation.

I find it to be terrible and irresponsible. Half the time I'm uninformed about something because watching the news makes me sick.
