I can't find what I want on the net. It's next to impossible. And I can't find anything in the stores to wear. So, I've been looking at making my wedding attire instead.

But I need opinions because I just simply can't decide. Try to imagine all of these in an ivory, cream or champagne color. I hate white.

Choice one.

I like the first one the best, and of that, I like the one in the middle. Very pretty! Congrats on your wedding! I'm so happy for you!!! I know you've waited what must seem like forever for this day to come! :goodvibes

Me too!

I like the third pattern (3rd model - standing with a 32" suit) - a nice heavy tonal fabric would be just right!

I like the Vogue. It's a pretty design, and it will be a well-made pattern. The third one is okay, but I don't think I'd consider the New Look for long at all unless you happen to have a body shape very similar to the "ideal" model they use to design the patterns. Those patterns always look like potato sacks when I sew them.

Did you look at the Kwik Sew patterns? The drawings don't look that great, but those patterns are well-made and sew up really nicely.

I found one review of the Vogue that sounded very favorable on Pattern Review.

I agree with Kermit -- #3 if you are built long and lean, #1, with the flair legged pants if you're not. I love the silvery color of outfit #1 and think it would be ideal for a casual wedding.

I also like the Vogue. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Thank you so much. I had no one to ask but my grandmother (sister was too busy to talk and stepdad isn't going to care. Would ask friends but you know how friends are. They are either really really nice when they don't need to be or they are really brutal lol) who was rather horrified at the idea that I would wear pants to get married in. She thinks I should wear the dress I originally bought even though its extremely formal and has a two foot train.

Uhh, I don't think so.

She wasn't any help. :)

I think I'll do the Vogue pattern.

Have to admit that I never thought I'd consider a Vogue pattern. They are so expensive. Now its just a matter of buying the pattern and finding the money to buy the material. It shouldn't be difficult to sew. I've sewn other outfits and it doesn't look nearly as complicated as most of the dress patterns I've seen.

And, best thing is, its not a dress lol. I'm not much on dresses anyway. Though brides usually wear them.

Sorry I've been going on and on about this btw. I didn't have fun planning my first wedding. It was just annoying doing all that work. This one is so much different and I'm enjoying this.

Vogue patterns go on sale for 75% off at Hancock Fabrics frequently. I stock up during sales.

Congratulations!

I'd do the first group of pictures, the one in the middle of the woman standing with the lacy jacket and pants outfit, except I might think of doing the skirt with the lacy jacket instead of the pants. But it also depends on how you feel wearing a jacket vs. pants.

I really like the Vogue outfit! It's so hard to find hte perfect wedding outfiti isn't it. I finally got my dress off ebay (custom made and loved it) but there was nothing in the stores like it.

I really like the first one. I think a cream colour would be great in that.

Congrats on the wedding, btw.

Me too.....I also like the silver color of the fabric, very beautiful.

*nods* I guess the others are a little too informal. I especially like that if I do it with the right colors, I can even wear them again after. I think I really love the lace. And, if I feel that the lace is a little too much, I can just remove it because the pants and shirt are pretty and simple all by themselves. Very elegant.

Thank you all for your help.

Heh, and oh yes. Its very hard to find just the right thing. Especially when most places seem to offer dresses that look like your covered in icing or wearing underwear.

First off COngratualtions to you and your fiance! I really, really like the middle outfit with the lacy jacket. It would be beautiful in Champagne.

I like the Vogue as well, I'd do the skirt and tank with the jacket over it in an ivory satin it would be lovely on any figure.

I'd also save some fabric if you go with satin to have the florist wrap the stems of your bouquet so it matches perfectly!

Ohhhhh!!! I love that idea! :)

*grins* I actually like that idea. Though I'm currently trying to decide if I should even bother with that. This wedding is so informal (we aren't even having a meal after. He and I are just going to a restaurant and telling people they are welcome to join us if they want) that I'm not sure I should bother with it. I was thinking.. perhaps a single red rose and that's all.

Not even sure if I want to have my hair done. My hair is naturally wavy if I wet it and don't brush it. It will hold the curl if I use mouse and hair spray since its fairly short atm. I don't wear it that way very often so it won't be expected.

I'm debating on something with my invitations too. I have this really nice paper I was using when I was job hunting for resume's. Not horribly expensive but kind of stone like. I was thinking of using tea bags to age the paper. I have this beautiful font that I can use to print a G (the initial of our last name) in gold on the back of the paper. Then, use the same font on another, smaller piece of the same paper that hasn't been aged yet to print the invite. Then glue it on top of the other (or perhaps just cut slits in the aged paper to insert the non aged. Might work better). I have this gold wax thats meant to be used for sealing envelopes. I can roll up the paper into a scroll and seal it shut.

See, I already have all that stuff so it won't cost more money.

Lol. Sorry, just thinking. What do you think of that idea for the invites? Do you think it would look nice? Wish I could make the paper look kinda like a map. Hmm, wonder if I print an aged map on it first, then age the paper... hmmm
