To get from AKL to WL?

We will be staying at AKL, and would like to go to WL for the campfire. We will have our own car, so should we drive, or do some bus transfers?

Also, does anyone know approximately how long it takes?

I think the campfire is at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge. Using your own car will be quicker. You could take a bus to MK, then the boat to FW, but it will take a while. And if the park closes before the campfire is over, you will need to get a bus to another park, then transfer to a bus to AKL.
