My wife and I have stayed at HRH and love it, never with kids, and never stopped at the pool, just walked by on the way to the parks, So I booked a trip in October with the kids 10, 6 and 4 booked with Kathy thru the Dis at RPH but had to change dates and when she redone the dates ended up at HRH which is fine with me and by wife. I originally wanted RPH because I thought the kids would like the pool area better, for my age kids do you think we will be disappointed with the pool at HRH? I know they have a slide but my kids seem to enjoy the splash areas more like they have at RPH. It looks like the HRH pool has zero entry which we like for the younger kids so I think we will be fine. Just wanted opinions of others who have actually been there with younger kids.

My family has stayed at both. The HRH is great. The pool is very cool.
I think the max depth is about 4ft. They have the dive in movies around the pool. It is a very exciting place and I am sure your kids will love it. Last year we tried the RPR and we love that place. It also has the zero depth entry.
We will be staying at the RPR next week but you can't go wrong with either.
Have fun at the HRH this year and next year try the RPR. You have my personal guarantee you will love them both.

i have stayed at both hotels many times.

both have the dive in movies, children activities (and teen) around the pool, pool toys to borrow and plenty of areas where you can relax around the pool.

i have seen more younger kids under 12ish at rph.

if the kids like slides, pool hop.
you can use the pools at pbh, rph, hrh hassle free, just take your room key for towels.

it's all a personal preference.
you'll have pool time fun no matter which hotel you stay.

When my kids were little they liked the pool at RPH. Now that they are teens they only want to stay at HRH.

The suggestion to pool hop is a good one! :thumbsup2

We did both pools on our last trip (stayed at RPR).Our kids preferred the pool at HRH but loved them both! They were 6, 9, and 13 at the time :)

For *swimming*, RPR is better.

But you don't have to choose your hotel based on the pool, as they encourage guests to try out the other pools!

Also want to add that HRH has the larger rooms. Depending on how much time you spend at the hotel, you may want more. Now don't get me wrong RPR was fine (335 sqft), we even fit a twin size air mattress between the window and bed but that was pretty much it for extra space. This time we splurged and booked a Deluxe at HRH (500 sqft) with two queens and a sofa sleeper. There's a few areas outside the HRH pool that squirt water up that my kids enjoyed also :) I tried to post a pic but my internet is being "wonky" today!
