What do you think about the magic?

We have sailed on the Fantasy once, Magic twice, and Wonder once. WuFlu permitting, we will sail on the Wonder in August 2021.

I like all of the ships and love the experiences we have had on them. The last time on the Magic I felt she was showing her age (small spots of rust in out of the way places, caulking peeling in the shower, etc.) - but you had to look really close to spot the minor issues. The crew does an incredible job of keeping all of the ships in shape.

We have done all 4 ships at least twice and historically the Wonder has been our favorite BUT it has been quite a while since we last sailed her.

We were scheduled for the Wonder in early February but cancelled. The Aqua Dunk is pretty fun and we haven’t been on the Wonder since the addition of Tiana’s so it could be nostalgia swaying our choice. We do give the classics a slight edge over the Dream class no matter what. Really hard to say that the Magic was much worse that the Wonder and all of the ships are pretty well maintained so expect a lot of similarity in that regard.

We have sailed on all four ships also, most recently MAGIC in November, and B2B on the WONDER in Jan/Feb.
In the latest iterations, our preference is Rapunzel's over Tiana's, both the show and the food.

Since our MAGIC / WONDER sailings were close, our comparisons were fresh. My wife, who notices everything, pointed out many more maintainence issues ship-wide on WONDER. We had equivalent sraterooms on both ships, (Navigator's verandah) and the verandah on MAGIC was in better shape.

Cast members on both ships had the same ratio of extremely wonderful (99%) to less-than-so. The only deficient department we found on WONDER was Port Adventures - it took persistence to get up the chain of command to address a major failure on their part. Guest Services, Retail, Dining, Bar/Lounges, Cruise Staff, Entertainment, and Hotel (stateroom attendants and public area) staff all had many great people on both ships. We can't speak to the various kid's clubs staff.

We both definitely felt the food quality is down a bit. We do feel that, fleet-wide, food quality is down somewhat. And we had our first ever disappointment in PALO, aboard WONDER in February.

Hope that helps. Pretty sure you'll have a great experience on any of the DCL ships.

I found the Wonder to be very noisy in the cabins, lots of creaking with moderate waves. I did not experience that on the Magic or Dream.

Just sailed Magic early Feb 2020 for MDAS & honestly did not care for the layout. it is a smaller ship, so atrium was really small. The BV theater seats are cramped & no drink holders. The staircase near photo gallery was awkward. our first cruise was on Fantasy so the larger ships had a better layout flow IMO albeit larger crowds. I did enjoy CC when Magic docked bc smaller ships meant smaller crowds. But our stateroom bathroom was a little worn (tiling & caulk needed upgrading). MDAS was fun though & willing to re-do that again.
