So we're driving to church the other morning and came up behind a fire truck, which isn't unusual except for that it wasn't painted in Milwaukee FD colors. As we got closer, I was able to snap these pictures:

Turns out it's a brand new Fire Truck for the FDNY, Ladder Truck #39. Doing a little research, I find out that it's a ladder truck serving the Bronx - I'm not sure if it was lost in 9/11 or not - but it's still a great reminder of everything the New York Fire Departments gave and lost for us on that day.

It must have just come from the Seagrave Fire Truck Company about 2 hours north of our city. As we passed the Fire Truck, we waved at the driver and he waved back. :D:D:D

Jeff, that was a great picture. I saw a few destroyed fire trucks buried in rubble at ground zero , when I was there giving nursing care to those brave souls. The best thing about that picture was , that truck was probably bought with donations from many organizations here in the USA and aboard . I work in Manhattan.. and those new Fire trucks may help those FDNY members to save my life one day. To those who gave monies I salute you!!!!

Jeff, Ladder 39 did not lose any members in the 9/11 tradegy...

Joe,

Thanks! I was looking around for those facts but they weren't on the net anywhere I could find. Do you know if the truck was lost on 9/11 or was this part of a normal replacement cycle?
