Trying to find a last place to book. On a thursday, we are thinking of doing DD and getting dinner while there.

Trying to decide between rainforest cafe or earl of sandwich.

Any suggestions??

Earl is a really really good sandwich shop and if you are doing the dining plan it is on the list. Rainforest is a lot of fun, but for dinner can be very spendy compared to Earl also it is not on the DDP and it does not take reservations thru the regular Disney channels. I have been told that you can make ressies up to 3 days in advance but I am not sure how. We had dinner at the RFC in AK, it was very noisy with lots of stuff going on all the time. If you have never been RFC is a lot of fun and something that I would do again.

I like Earl of Sandwich and don't like Rainforest Cafe, so there is my biased vote. Earl of Sandwich has something for everyone and everything I've had there I liked.

Do you want a nice sit-down meal or a good sandwich using counter service? RFC is something different and if you have never been there, go for it.

Earl has nice sandwiches if that is what you are looking for.

We love both Rainforest Cafe and Earl of Sandwich, and we eat at both on our family trips, but they are very different restaurants. If you are trying to decide between the two, it depends on what you are looking for in a meal.

Rainforest Cafe has great theming, and it's a lot of fun. My sons insist on eating there every trip. We've tried several different dishes, and we've enjoyed everything we've had there. DH and I usually split a meal because the portions are huge. As a side note, I think they have the best veggie burger in WDW. The prices are a bit high though.

Earl of Sandwich has absolutely delicious sandwiches, and the prices are great, especially by WDW standards. The line is usually very long, but don't let that scare you away - it moves much more quickly than it looks like it would.

I LOVE Earl of Sandwhich! We eat there at least twice. Not a big fan of Rainforest, but we have one locally so its not a big deal to us. Rainforest does have great smoothies and volcano cake though...you could eat at Earl and get dessert at Rainforest if you want to try out both.

Rainforest gets my vote. We were at Earl's(prices about $6.00 for a Snadwich not including chips or soda) over xmas and the staff was very rude. Including the manager. I will admit the price is resonable and the sandwiches are good. But wont go back. Never had a problem at Rainforest.
Food is good average price of food is about $15.00 - $20.00 per meal per adult some higher and some lower. They have rainstorms and fake thunder and lighting and animals going nuts and live fish swimming in aquariums. From what I remember but I have been to aleast 3 or 4 different Rainforest Cafes. Seafood is good. Steak is good and ribs are good. The Volcano (dessert) is big enough for 3 people to eat.

sorry to interrupt..Does RFK take ADR'S?
RFC does is not owned by Disney and is not part of their ADR system. I was told they take Ressies directly 3 days in advance, but I don't know the number. We went to the one in AK and stopped in on our way into the park and made Ressies for dinner that night when AK closed.

I pick Rainforest only because I haven't been to the other. We visited the DTD one.

Earl has OK sandwiches. I kept hearing everyone say how great they are so I decided to try it, but to me they were nothing special. We have a place here called Atlanta Bread Company which is better IMO.

I have never been to RFC in wdw, but I have been to the on here in Denver when it was open and also the one in Las Vegas. I lover thier food, but as mentioned it could be pricey.

So if you are looking for quailty over price I say RFC, but if you are looking at price over Quality, then Earl.

To get reservations at the Downtown Rainforest Cafe, you have to all the restuarant directly. Sorry, but I don't have the number here at work. They take reservations months in advance - I have a reservation for March and have had it since December.

I just made a reservation at RFC for now, we may change and eat at Earl if we change our minds or another day. I did call RFC directly for may and it was no problem. the # is 407-827-8500 if anyone needs it.
