I am having a group of friends over for dinner. I'm making lasagna, salad and garlic bread. What other veggie or side do you serve with lasagna?

We like green beans with lasagna.

I would do it just like you are doing it. Salad is a veggie.

Denae

fresh fruit

corn

zucchini

A little grated Parmesian (Sp) Cheese on the Side. I allways felt that it was complete meal.

When don't normally service anything that what you are serving, but greenbeans would be good. My sister coat fresh greenbeans in Ital Dressing & puts them on a cookiesheet for about 20 at 375, yummy.

Meatballs, pepperoni & sausage :thumbsup2

If a dinner party, I would put out bread w/oil and peppers too as an appetizer.

I've always considered the salad the veggie.

Sometimes I make it more so by putting out bowls of chopped broccoli, cauliflower, and tomato for people to top the salad with if they wish.

I make exactly what you do. Lasagna with garlic bread and a salad. I think that's good enough. Since friends are coming I would also make some kind of dessert. Why am I suddenly getting hungry? :teeth:

Caesar salad and garlic bread here too.... although I like the sounds of that wine!

When I read the title, my first thought was salad and bread.
I think that's a pretty complete meal.

Pasta, bread, and salad. Nothing else is needed... except dessert! You can't forget the dessert; it's a crime! With meals like this I used to make pudding parfaits (just two different kinds of pre-packaged pudding layered into glasses with a strawberry on top); super easy but quite elegant all the same.

If lasagna is made well, nothing much else is needed except for some good italian bread and a side of meatballs. Maybe a roast loin of pork too, that's how my MIL makes it.

Edited to add, my MIL only made cheese lasagna. The meat was always served on the side.

Yup! :thumbsup2

Best thing to serve with good lasagna is MORE good lasagna!

I always serve salad and some sort of bread; Italian bread, French bread, or Texas Toast (though the toast is more likely to be served with spaghetti around here).

I can concur with a good bottle of wine, but aside from that, that's all you'd get at my house. I'm not making lasagna AND meatballs in the same night! :teeth:

Salads here are normally:
Iceberg lettuce
Romaine lettuce
Spinach
mozzarella cheese
parmesan cheese
carrots (shredded)
celery (shredded)
broccoli (shredded)
cauliflower (shredded)
radishes (shredded)
choice of dressing

I was thinking of adding spinach in your salad.

But I suppose that depends on whether you want your guests to live long enough to come to the holiday party.

If not, more spinach for everyone!

:teeth:

we like corn especially corn on the cob :thumbsup2

alot of times we just have what you mentioned though!
