What do you save from your Disney vacation to add to your scrapbook?

I love to collect and save things to add to my scrapbooks....especially my Disney scrapbooks. I was curious to know what other people save from their Disney vacations to include in their scrapbook pages??

Here are some things I have saved and used or plan on using on my Disney scrapbook pages (note: remember these items are probably not acid-free and should not be directly touching your photos...use a photo-safe buffer between them and your photos such as scrapbooking cardstock):

-> Mickey confetti...from celebration dinners such as birthday and anniversaries
-> paper Mickey coasters from resorts
-> postcards
-> park maps, times guides, and those photo-retrieval tickets they give you after taking your photo at the front of the park
-> Resort keys/ admission media
-> stickers from parades that CMs hand out
-> pressed pennies
-> the plastic spear that holds the lemon in a drink (such as iced tea)....we got a really fun one at Disney MGM Studios
-> airplane ticket stubs and reciepts from purchases at Disney shops
-> parking passes
-> paper napkins
-> birthday cards, anniversary cards, and special certificates you sometimes recieve for special occassions at restaurants and resorts
-> the Mickey balloon weights that hold down the balloons you sometimes get in your resort rooms for special occassions
-> the itemized final bill from the resort, envelopes, etc.

Does anyone have anything else that they collect that I haven't mentioned? Any unique items?

You already have some great ideas there. I wish I had relaized when we went to Disney in March all the things I could have collected for scrapbooking.

I did save a few Fast Passes that people had left at the stations.

Gosh that's the only thing I can think of that you don't already have.

This will be fun to see what others save.

From the cruise, I saved the Navigators (although I didn't use it IN the layout... I made a pocket in the back and put them in there). I saved tickets from our visit to see the Braves (play the Astros and see Andy Pettitte, my favorite pitcher) and the Astros autographs. I've saved and used fast passes and a little certificate for head of the line priviledges once my youngest son is tall enough to ride Tower of Terror. (We won't be using it since it's in a layout now... LOL!!) I've used keycards... post cards... the cardboard frame things that the pictures come in...

Oh, I also bought bookmarks to use (although I haven't yet). Rereading your list, I have also used those photo retrieval ticket things. I especially liked using the Tower of Terror one. I have actually asked or extra so I can use both the front and back of them.

I've saved that whole list too!! My first scrapbook took about 1/2 of a 12x15 album, I could get 2 trips in 1 book. Now each trip takes a whole 12x12 book. And we've gone so many times, but I still do a whole book!!

The other thing I like to get are postcards!

I keep all the receipts for the day in a large Ziplock baggie with the date on it . That way after a long day at the park or shopping ,I simply put all of the days receipts, maps & a daily note page.
Prior to the trip I date the large ziploc bag, computer print out of THe funniest thing today----------------------

WEll you get the idea. That way even when i'm exhausted i can simply fill it in and it's already for scrapbooking.

While going through my Disney trip photos to scrapbook, I was so thrilled I took a photo of my daughter standing in front of the NWA counter with the flight and times behind her. It made an adorable addition to the photos in the airplane prior to her turning green!!!

I also save most of the things on the list, as well as:

post cards - esp. the big character ones

Passporter pockets with our plans written on them

Menus from character meals and sit-down restaurants if possible

The little restaurant cards that they have at the check-in desk in the resorts. They give a brief description of the restaurant and the meals served there. Not sure what they are called.

Candy wrappers w/ Disney logos or designs

Left-over Fast Passes

Pins or Buttons that you get at parades or restaurants - they can be scanned to use in albums

Receipts - I usually save them all to keep track of what we spent, but use the ones from character meals or favorite restaurants in my albums.

In addition to the big list posted I save resort maps and all the things you get there like the World Update and the resort newsletter.

I was wondering do you guys treat this stuff with archival mist or some other similar product? What about the glossy papers like the park maps. I try to keep the photos from touching the "other" materials and I generally mat that photos that do but I haven't been treating things in my disney albums. It's really too late to go back and treat the majority of my albums but I'm starting another this week. What's the general opinion of the expert scrappers out there.

I like your question and would be interested in other's replies. I have never treated any of my souvenirs with archival mist (very expensive) either, but would like to hear everyone elses opinions.

KSGirl - don't forget confetti from the parades! (Or, if cruising, the sendoff party). My wonderful DH snagged some fo rme before I even had to ask!


Radio - I've always been told to put it in photo sleeves. At the very least, make sure that it does not touch any photos. However, if you do not have buffered paper, any acids could still travel through the paper to your photo. Also, make sure you use page protectors, if not the photo sleeves, to make sure that the photos on the opposite page are not harmed.

We keep the papers they give you at the ride photo place. The one from ToT looks like the DND sign that hangs on your room door. It looks great on the page with our ToT photo. I have neat ones from Buzz, Dinosaur, etc.

WOW!! You've all given me so many ideas for our upcoming trip - alot of things I didn't get last time.

A few things I didn't see listed were NAPKINS - I took them from all of the hotels we visited. Also, the bakery tissue from CBR - white w/ red Mickey's all over it.
AND soap boxes from resort
AND little coke cups from Cool Station at Epcot

Last time we rented a car and I have 2 scrapbook pages of pictures of the parking field signs from all of the parks...Minnie, Unicorn, etc.

We surprised our kids with a disney cruise & trip to WDW one year they 'thought' they were being taken to grandmas so she could watch them while my husband & I went to FL for a mtg.

I slipped the stewardess a note & asked her if she could have the captain announce to them over the speaker, which he did.
It was Great - he made up several clues & read them off & then said "______ & ______surprise - You are going to WDW!"
YOU should have seen the looks on their faces! THEN to top it all the stewardesses came out from first class & gave them each a hot fudge sundae it was PerFect! American airlines was so wonderful! everyone turned around & congratulated them It was like they won the lotto :O)

I had 2 journals ready for them to record their thoughts, & all they did that week. (9/11 happened when we were at the private island disney owns - & it was important for them to record their feelings about that horrible day which was surreal, while we lazed upon a beautiful beach totally shocked/stunned by the news)

anyway, I later typed up each of their journalling (as some was kinda scribbly) but kept their exact words , misspells etc & put them into their scrapbook with photos & mementos. It is great to go back to read

So don't forget to have your young ones record what they do on vacations too It is nice to read their viewpoints & memories also.

I haven't actually completed a scrapbook yet (I'm the great collector and buyer...not doer!!), but I saved the silver Mickey confetti from the 25th anniversary. The ACTUAL anniversary. Only celebs were allowed into Magic Kingdom in the morning so we attended a taping of Regis and Kathie Lee at MGM and then headed over to Magic Kingdom. They hadn't had time to clean up yet so we found confetti under benches, etc. that had not been picked up.

I have also grabbed confetti from Pleasure Island, the Snow White show at Disneyland and other places.

I try to keep FastPasses that I don't end up needing to ride.

I'm going on a Disney cruise in November so I'm definitely going to keep someone's idea in mind about confetti from the sail-away party.

We have collected many, many of the items listed above. Napkins, postcards and stationary from the Poly and our cabin on the Magic/Wonder, kids paper menus, Navigators, etc. . . .

I am wondering if anyone has ideas about displaying KTTW cards. In a previous book, I just taped them down to the page. This time I would like to matt them, so they stand out a little more. Does anyone else have other suggestion on creative ways to display them?

Ya'll have some AWESOME ideas! I too buy the postcards and save the coasters, Fast Pass tickets, photo retrieval form--especially the one from T of T. I've also saved the balloon DDs got for being at the end of the line for character signings. One thing I like to do is copy or print out a map from our house to our final destination. I'll highlight the roads we took and then mark where we stopped for lunch, potty breaks etc. For example I'll mark stopping at Hardee's south of ATL and then at the Florida Visitor Center on I-75. This Visitor Center is a very nice one so I took a few pix while we were there having our picnic lunch.
I also keep the resort Map and will mark where we stayed, where the bus stop was etc. Does anyone take pictures of the entrance to parks? I use that as my opening page.
We also went to Universal Studios and Sea World and have kept the parking stubs.
What parades throw confetti? I don't remember that.

I'm blanking out on the name, but in February the daytime MK parade had confetti at the end.

I've saved Monorail Driver's Licenses. I've also saved the envelopes they give you with professional photos (on rides, on Main Street, HDDR, Chef Mickey's, etc.) and cut them up and used them in various capacities. I also save fast passes.

Off-site, I've saved the wrapping from magic towels that shows what pic is on the towel. I've ordered multiple copies of vacation planning videos just to use the box and brochures for photos or borders.
