What do you remember wanting to do with your life as soon as you left high school?

All I knew is that I didn’t want to go to college cause I hated school. I was already working as a senior in high school and after graduating I went to full time. Never really expected to meet somebody there and start dating. Got married a year later and then pregnant 4 months after that. Became a SAHM at the age of 20. Life happens.

Wanted to be a Deputy Sheriff. But decided it could wait until I got my College Degree. Discovered Broadcasting about 2 weeks into my Freshman year, and the career in Law Enforcement never happened.
But nothing in my life was set in stone, I was very fluid in my choices.

Get to college as fast as possible. I spent 4 years of high school in an all-boys college prep school. I wanted to go have some fun, er, well, a different kind of fun than I was having in high school.

Went to Burger King for lunch, couldn’t wait to eat. Was hungry.,Just getting out of wrestling season and not eating much it was so good. Then started University at age 17. Seems so young when so many now are 19 years old in grade 12.But coming out of an elite prep school many of us were younger.

Wow, 19 in 12th grade seems pretty old. Almost exactly split between 17 and 18 year olds in my class on the day we graduated. And almost all the 18 year olds had their 18th birthday after November 15th of our first semester Senior year as that was the cut off date.
College was interesting in that we had a few kids who skipped a grade or two and were 16 and 17 as Freshman in College. One girl worked as a dishwasher at my fraternity. Very attractive and looked 30 so we had a Tee shirt made up for her that said "Jail Bait"

I wanted to see the war end before I got through college so I could skip that experience. I didn't get my wish and always just aimed for the semi-low bar the rest of my life up to this point.

I didn't set the world on fire but I managed to support my family, put my children though college and save enough money to retire at 63 years old and maintain a semi-comfortable life since then, at least so far. I always like to say that my ship came in but sunk before they could get it to the dock. I managed to skim off a little of the treasure that floated to the surface, but most of it went down with the ship. ;) :)

I wanted to marry my high school sweetheart! Everyone at that time (60's) got married out of HS and started having kids. That didn't happen and I was the "oldest" one of my HS friends to get married and have kids. Not many of the girls at that time went to college, just some fortunate boys who had the money to go. Most of us went straight to work.

I was in an elite prep school and was one of the youngest in my class. I was barely 17 when I started college.

Go to college and save money to buy a house. I did both. Graduated at 22 and bought a house at 23.
