took my family out to LONE STAR Steakhouse on Saturday and when the server brought the steaks out, he also gave us a bottle of A-1 Steak sause, even though there was a couple of bottles steak sauses and hot sauses already on the table and it got me to thinking, I wonder how many diners use sauses on there steaks. I myself will sometimes put salsa on my steaks but most the time I eat them as they come to me(cooked medium rare, I should add) So, do you put anything on your steaks?

A-1
Well done...:smooth:

Usually nothing. Sometimes A1 or Heinz 57. A good steak needs no condiment though. And I prefer it very well done.:)

If I'm out, A1 - though I rarely order steak. At home, I don't put anything on because we used Boma's Flank Steak Marinade & it doesn't need anything else. ;) Yummmmmmmm!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Usually nothing on it,cooked medium rare.
Sometimes at home I mix up red wine vinegar, garlic salt and a little oregano and put that on it.

Usually just salt and pepper.

Sometimes, I sprinkle a little Montreal Steak seasoning on one side before grilling. McCormick makes that.

If I'm going to put sauce on it, it's gotta be Peter Luger's steak sauce. It's a tangy, horse-radishy blend.

If my steak isn't still mooing, it's overcooked... aka, rare.

No sauce. I marinate them with minced garlic, soy cause, lemon-pepper and a little lemon juice.

nothing better then a good rare piece of beef.....I love prime rib and the rarer the better....I have once in a blue moon put on a spicy steak sauce....but most of the time ...a good ground pepper and that is it

I usually rub olive oil, soy sauce and montreal steak seasoning before hubby cooks them on the grill. Sometimes to drive the cholesterol (spelling?) up I will add some melted butter to the top of the steak. No steak sauce for me.

I also like the Montreal steak seasoning on my steak. I always sprinkle it on before grilling. Once in awhile I'll take some filet mignons, cut them into bitesize pieces and cook them "Japanese-style." Meaning, in a frying pan on high heat with a little margarine, a sprinkle of salt & pepper and some soy sauce. Just before serving, I pour on a little stir-fry sauce, cook a minute or so more and VOILA! Dinner is served.

I usually don't put anything on my steak at the table, I put it on before I cook them....salt, pepper, garlic powder, a little oregano and a bit of olive oil.

Varies on my mood.

Sometimes Season All (Another McCormick product)

Sometimes A-1

Sometimes Nothing at all. It really depends on how I deem the quality of the steak.

I prefer my steaks done this way: Marinate in a beer bath for a few hours, rub down with a little garlic powder, slap it on the grill, and serve it still pink and bloody in the middle. No sauce is needed, as the steak will be so moist and juicy, you'll slap your mama the next time you see her. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

I like Lea & Perrins Worchestershire Sauce, plus salt and pepper.

And it's gotta be L&P, French's or the store brand doesn't cut it.

I really like steak with A-1. :)

In fact I think I am going to make steaks tonight.

Ok...I will probably get it for saying this...but I prefer catsup on my rare steak. Always have, always will.....:)

May I ask a question? What kind of steaks are you marinating? If we have steak, it's usually filet, NY strip or porterhouse and I wouldn't have the heart to marinade them. Now, the marinated flank steak sounds wonderful. I'm just curious... maybe I can discover a new favorite out of this thread.
