Our travel agent sent us lanyards for the kids with our travel package. I'm sure this is a dumb question, but what do you put on the lanyard clip? I'm thinking we can put something with the kids' names/our cell phone numbers. So, what do you do?

Thanks,
E

I've seen people with little plastic pockets that they clip on (like ID badge holders) and they put their park passes, room cards, etc. on there. You could really put any sort of card, I suppose!

i've read on some sites that lanyards are not recommended when going on some rides for the fear of them hooking onto something and causing injury. I know there are some that will detach when pulled hard enough.

My family uses the lanyards to display our pin collections (that we want to display and/or trade). We use the clip to hook onto a plastic pouch that holds our ticket. You could also put an id sort of card in there. They sell for about $3 at Disney. You can also buy a large medallion to clip to the end of the lanyard. Both of my kids have one and so does my husband. We have never had a problem with lanyards on the rides, and we go nearly every weekend to one of the parks.

I've got 2 lanyards that I use regularly. 1 has a plastic pouch with Tink on it and I keep my AP, my girls' AP's and any fastpasses we collect in it, I use this lanyard for trading pins. My other lanyard is my pirate lanyard, it's full of pirate pins and I have a pirate medallion on that one, I tend to not trade those pins, unless there is something really good I'm trading for. My girls both have medallions and my DBF has a pouch for his AP as well. Our pouches were less than $5 and the medallions were around $10-12 iirc.

We too use them to put our trading pins on and display some we like to keep. The clear ticket holders everyone is talking about are great to put on there. Or if you do get into the pin trading, at Downtown Disney in the store "Pin Traders" there is a booth you can get your picture taken at and then choose a design you like best that will say on there "Official Pin Trading Badge". A CM (Cast Member) will punch a hole in it and give you a clip with it to hook on to the end of you lanyard. It is really neat. So your kids will have there picture at the bottom of each of their lanyard. It does cost $5, but it is neat to have!:thumbsup2

I put an ID holder on the lanyard with dds names and dh's and mine cell phone numbers on the back of a piece of card stock. On the front of the card stock I used princess stickers to decorate them. The girls loved them and I felt more comfortable with them having some kind of ID on them.

They have a quick release on them so they wouldn't choke anyone if they got caught on anything.

Only put them on your kids if they are break-away design in case of accidental entanglement.

I wear mine every time we visit WDW or go on a cruise. I keep my KTTW card in it along with fast passes and hopper tickets. No need to dig in a purse or backpack. Wouldn't go without one!
