:teeth: Hi All!,

I've just been on the US Dis boards and found a great thread about tips on what to pack.
I don't know if there has ever been one on our boards but i think it's a fab idea!:)
There was some stuff mentioned that we can't get over here.

So... When going to WDW What Do YOU Pack?
Wether it's in your first aid kit or your wash bag, I wanna know about it, please tell all.....;)

Luv Audrey,
XXXXXXXXX:wave:

Great idea I'm always lookin for tips.

With 3 kids I definately took a first aid kit plus Calpol Ect.

We stayed in a villa & I also took

toys for the pool & my youngest is 10!!

Persil tablets (non-bio)

Cardboard windscreen shield , it made finding our hire car a little easier.

Plastic beakers which we kept in the polystyrene (spell?) cooler in the car. So we could have a drink as soon as we came out of the parks.

Too many clothes especially as I had use of washing machine & tumble dryer.

An empty holdall to pack on way back.

Simon V's book.

Credit card!!!!!!!!

Can't think of any more.

Sue

Apart from all the everyday necessities. I always take our walkie talkie to use in the Theme Parks and in places like Walmart and the shopping malls.

We usually stay in a resort villa so always drop into Walmart for our essencials and pick up any new ideas there. We take our water shoes for the water parks, you can pick some up cheaply at Walmart. I takes loads of Ziplock bags, small and large to hold breakable or leakable items, also good for snacks and drinks.

;)

:D
Hi Sue(Disney Owl),

Laundry Tabs are a great idea:D

I always find that the laundry detergent i buy in US doesn't seem to remove stains as well as ours and the fabric softener doesn't seem to work as well,Anyone else found this?

We also always take spare holdall or case to fit all our extra goodies in , it's a must as far as i'm concerned;)

Thanx for that Sue,
Luv Audrey,

Sorry Sue88 uk,

I didn't notice your reply:o

Have never used walkie talkies but they are a fab idea!

Always take DD's water shoes, although they are a bit small this time,:)
Oh well, another excuse to do some more shopping! (like i ever need an excuse! he he);)

The zip lock bags are a great idea as well, there's nothing worse than arriving state side and finding your shampoo/sun block has leaked all over your lovely holiday clothes:eek:

Thanx for your ideas Sue88,
Luv Audrey,

Corkscrew

Bottle opener

Potato masher, tried to find one out there last time, asked people but they thought we were mad.

Anthony

:bounce: Man after me own heart BONZO:bounce:
LOL!;)

Anthony,
Hmmmm.... A potato masher?, now THAT must be the most unusual thing i've ever heard of taking to WDW!

Luv Audrey,
XXXXXXXXX;)

The more times I go to WDW i realise I don't really need to pack the entire contents of our house - WalMart has everything you could ever need - and more.
And when you are in a villa you don't need clothes for every day cos you have a washing machine and dryer, but I'd never thought of taking my own non-bio though - but its a great idea since all the 'detergents' in the US are biological, and I did notice the clothes were not cleaned as well as they would be back home - but I thought it was the water, or washing machine

But one thing I do like to take are Tetley Tea bags for a decent cuppa

Potato masher??????

Have to say i agree with you on the Tetley t-bags ;)

Luv Audrey,
xxxxxxxxxx:D

Sorry for us, it's PG Tips Pyramid teabags!! :)

We also take (lots of) spare film for both the camera and video camera and spare batteries - we've been caught out before at MK and had to pay Disney prices for both!

On the way out there, we also take an extra suitcase each, so we end up coming back with four - Virgin let you do that! Very useful for all the clothes and toys we buy out there!! ;)

If you've left a legacy in Epcot, don't forget to take the details out with you of where it is - we had to ask last time! :o

We always take Ariel tablets to do our washing, although we have been asked before what they are, as X ray machines can't see through them apparently...

... I don't like washing when I'm on holiday ao I take enough underwear and clothes so I don't have to use a washing machine ( No, we don't travel light :teeth: !!)

I would add to the list :
NB - essential: driving license of all those intending to drive the hire car
earplanes
bumbags - great for the parks for being hands free and keeping passes, cash etc close to you;
notebook with reservation & PS conf nos, rough plan plus EE days and UK addresses for sending cards, I take the notebook in handluggage with full addresses of where we'll be staying - you need a full address for the visa waiver form.
if the children have an autograph book from a previous visit, take that plus a fat pen
insect repellent - be prepared! I was bitten on my first night so unless you are going to the supermarket straightawawy when you get there, take some with you.
camcorder battery recharger plus adaptor and spare cassettes for same!
disposable waterproof camera(s) for the water parks
if taking a young child, their favourite toy(s)/cuddlies - they need something that is familiar to them in strange places
plus: Calpol and any other medicines that your child may need: our son had a fever on our first visit and detested the taste of the Tylenol syrup
prescribed medicines
Dollar Travellers cheques
US Money for tolls

My essential list is:

Tea Bags
Washing Tabs
Insurance Docs
Details of my medication written down in case I need
to get US equivalents in an emergency.
Tickets and Guide Books
CC/Travel Cheques/Money
D.Licence. (Both parts if New Type)
(I also put photo copies of all the important documents in a spare
wallet in the case, just in case)
Phone Card
2 Spare holdalls.

We dont take any toiletries at all - seems pointless carrying all that extra weight when you can buy it all so much cheaper once you are there. What we normally use they sell there anyway.

:)

;) LOL on the PG Tips chezp!

Shirley, d'you have a weight lifter to carry all your luggage???;)
Have to agree with you on the bum bags, (or fanny packs, that name just cracks me up LOL!)
:teeth:
Also the earplanes,(no earplanes,no fly!!)

Janice,Good idea about the toiletries, it must save you valuable space in your suitcase for the ahem!... odd purchase or ten?

Great ideas folks!
Luv Audrey,

BRILLIANT!!! and SOOOO SIMPLE! Must suggest this to DW - we always seem to take half of BOOTS CHEMISTS with us when we go.

I always take our walkie talkie to use in the Theme Parks and in places like Walmart and the shopping malls.

What sort of walkie talkies do you take Sue88UK? I wasn't sure if you could use ones bought in the UK in the States. Otherwise they sound like a great idea.

I usually take a couple of sets of camping/picnic cutlery with me, so I don't have to contend with those dreadful plastic things if we get a pizza delivered.

:D
I didn't think uk walkie talkies worked over in the US either, i would also be interested in finding this out Sue

Don't you ever have problems getting even blunt metal knives into the US Becky?

Luv Audrey'
XXXXXXXXX :D

Last time I went over was before Sept 11th, but I would always pack them in my suitcase rather than my hand luggage anyway - I think that is okay. Could anyone let us know about that for future reference?
