We are leaving in 16 days! :cool1: This will be the first time going to WDW with our DS's ages 4 and 1 and I want to make sure I have everything I need in our carry on. We are taking a red eye and will be at MCO at 9:01 am taking ME to the resort. :crazy2: We plan on going to the park first thing as I'm sure our room won't be ready. Please help me pack my bag! :worship:

We are going to try and 'pack lite' this next trip, even though we're checking bags.
Our carry ons will have: Nintendo DSs, Ipods, swimsuits, Change of clothes for DD, 3 stuffed animals for DD, coloring book and crayons, surprise treat bag for DD, cameras, a Blythe, snacks, meds (mine and some children's headache & pepto), a couple of gallon size ziploc baggies (you never know when you need a sealed bag), a travel blanket and pillow for DD, hoodies.

I usually try and squeeze my kids in them so I don't have to pay for a ticket....

Oooooh a packing thread! I love packing.

My carryon is going to be a school bag, aside from my purse which will be my personal item. In there I will have:

  • laptop
  • dvd player
  • dvds
  • cables/chargers/docks
  • change of clothes/shoes (sandals)
  • sunglasses
  • medications
  • toothbrush/contacts/contact solution/glasses
  • book
  • jewelry
  • beltbag

I'm taking a schoolbag with two full-lenth zippered sections as well as three front compartments. I got it at a local sporting goods store for only $20! A steal for how much I can fit in it and how durable it is. We'll buy snacks after security.

Hmmm, lets see. A few snacks for the plane, my husband's work computer, a book, probably a change of clothes because I'm always cold on the plane but I won't be cold once we land, tums, tylenol, eye drops, sun block. That's probably all I would bring if it were up to me.

My husband, on the other hand, will be fully prepared with anything he could possibly need in the event that our luggage falls out of the plane and there is no place to buy anything to replace it with. :rolleyes1

First, don't be surprised if your room is ready. It usually takes 45mins.-hour after your plane lands & gets you to your resort. As far as the carry-on goes...everything for our trip!!!!! We all bring just carry-ons. We plan for a 6 day trip usually 3-4 outfits-I wash when the kids & hubby goes to the pool. We bring our ziploc baggies filled w/ 3oz lotions, shampoo, hair spray, toothpaste, etc. Usually have any of our purchases sent home-unless they too can fit in the carry-ons. With the airlines charging per bag (checked) I think alot more people will be doing the same.

i used to carry all my toiletrees in my carry on, those days are over.
so i no longer bring one. the kids will each have a backpack with coloring books, crayons, ds, magna doodles...etc.
i will just carry on my purse and camera.

if i were planning to go right to the parks from the plain, i wouldnt even let the kids carry all that stuff. i would carry on exactly wht i needed for a day at the park. cameras, diapers and tickets. i cant think of anything else. i just wouldnt want to be stuck carrying all that stuff. (im assuming you are sending your luggage to the resort)

I also only bring a carry on each. Also a small backpack for each child. They will have in theirs items they may want to easily access on the plane and while waiting to take off and such.

For the older child, maybe a couple of toys, a cuddly item, snacks. Definitely a change of clothes, at least for the children!

I also think it's possible your room may be ready. It would be nice, so you could settle in and freshen up. You may be tired and want a rest also.

I hope you at least have scheduled some rest time into the first day, since the red eye flight doesn't offer much sleep (at least to the grown ups) usually. We take that back from Hawaii always, and we are so out of it when we land!
